Online Poker in Vietnam

Three offshore poker rooms take Vietnamese players: Natural8, WPT Global and CoinPoker. This page covers what those rooms offer, how they work, and what to expect when you sign up, deposit and cash out. Where Vietnamese players can play online poker: the three sites compared

Independent listings find hundreds of offshore casinos and poker rooms that accept players from Vietnam, so the real question is which ones are worth your time⁵. Three rooms come up again and again for Vietnamese players: Natural8, WPT Global and CoinPoker. Each takes a different approach.

Natural8 is operated by Run Good N.V., a company registered in Curacao, and is the room most Vietnamese players land on first, partly because the whole site is available in Vietnamese⁶. WPT Global is the international option, open in more than 135 countries, with cash tables, tournaments and casino games under one roof². CoinPoker sits at the crypto end of the spectrum: it is licensed by the Government of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan, does not ask for proof of identity, and handles money in cryptocurrency³.

One thing worth knowing before you choose: online poker for money sits in a gray area for Vietnamese residents. Live poker clubs operate openly in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces, and the tournament (buy-in) format is treated as legal when it follows the applicable circular and the club's rules, but there is no equivalent licensed online room inside Vietnam⁴. Playing on an offshore site is something many Vietnamese players do, but it is not something the state licenses, so keep that in mind and only play with money you can afford to lose. Visitors and foreign residents face the same situation: the rooms themselves do not distinguish, but the legal risk is yours.

Natural8: the main room for Vietnam, with a Vietnamese player pool and livestreams

Natural8 markets itself as the largest player pool in Asia, and it draws that pool from five flags: Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand¹. At any given moment the site displays a live counter of players online, and the figure regularly sits above 300,000⁷.

Two things make Natural8 feel specifically Vietnamese rather than just available in Vietnamese. First, the site runs Vietnam-exclusive tournaments, including a Vietnam Weekend Deepstack with an $800 guarantee every Saturday and Sunday⁸. Second, there is a daily livestream for the Vietnamese poker community, scheduled every day at 8:00 PM Vietnam time⁸. A few notes on the less familiar variants:

• All-in or Fold: every hand comes down to one decision, shove or fold. Games are fast, and the format suits short sessions on a phone.
• Short Deck: Texas Hold'em played with the twos through fives removed, which changes the hand rankings and makes big hands far more common.
• Pot Limit Omaha (PLO): you get four cards instead of two and must use exactly two of them. The 5-card and 6-card versions on CoinPoker push the variance even higher.

Closer to home, the Vietnam-facing schedule is more modest but runs constantly. The Vietnam Weekend Deepstack carries an $800 guarantee on Saturdays and Sundays, and there are daily deepstack events for Vietnamese players throughout the week⁸. Natural8 also runs exclusive tournament series for other Asian player pools, such as APT Taipei Poker Classic package events for Taiwan and Thailand players, which gives a sense of how the room builds region-specific schedules⁸.

How to sign up and verify your account

Signing up on any of the three rooms takes minutes. On Natural8, you create an account, and the site asks you to verify your identity immediately after account creation, though in practice most players complete verification when they first try to withdraw¹⁴. On WPT Global, the registered name must match your legal name and the name on whatever payment method you use to deposit and withdraw, so do not sign up with a nickname¹⁵. Your password needs at least eight characters with uppercase letters, lowercase letters and numbers¹⁵.

A few rules worth knowing before you register:

• One account per person, and one per household or IP. Natural8 forfeits winnings and closes all accounts if it finds duplicates in one household¹⁶. WPT Global says the same: one single account per player, and extra accounts may be closed with the money retained¹⁵.
• Age. Natural8 requires you to be at least 18 and to meet the minimum gambling age where you live⁶. WPT Global checks age at verification, and a player found to be underage has winnings forfeited and the account closed¹⁵.
• Country list. If your country of residence does not appear in the registration list, the room cannot accept you. Vietnam does appear on Natural8's list. WPT Global's excluded territories are long (they include China, Hong Kong and Singapore, among many others) but Vietnam is not on it¹⁵.
• Documents. When verification is requested, expect to send a copy of a current government-issued photo ID and a proof of address dated within the last three months. On Natural8, a utility bill, bank statement or credit card statement works, with the eight middle digits blanked out on card statements¹⁷. WPT Global gives you 30 days from the request before the account may be restricted¹⁵.

CoinPoker is the outlier: no proof of identity is requested at any stage, which is the main draw for players who value privacy³.

Deposits and withdrawals: methods, limits and fees

Natural8. Deposits go through the integrated Cashier in the Natural8 app, and the room accepts credit cards, debit cards, other payment options and bitcoin¹⁶. Cash sent by post or courier is not accepted, and if you send cryptocurrency to a wrong or invalid address, attempting to recover it carries an 8% processing fee with no guarantee of success¹⁶. Withdrawals are processed within 24 hours to 3 days, and a flat fee of $1 applies to every withdrawal¹⁹. Withdrawal limits are $20,000 per day and $200,000 per 30 days, with larger amounts needing special management approval; large withdrawals may be split into smaller ones without extra fees¹⁴. Two rules catch people out: withdrawals generally go only to a payment method you have already deposited from (the closed-loop rule), and poker winnings from the previous 72 hours are held in your poker wallet, where you can use them at the tables but not withdraw them immediately¹⁴. If your withdrawal triggers verification, you have 24 to 48 hours to complete it or the request is reversed¹⁷.

WPT Global. The minimum deposit is usually $10, varying by method and country, and the minimum withdrawal is $5². Cash transfers are forbidden in both directions; funds move only through electronic, traceable options on the deposit page¹⁵. The rule to watch: you must wager your deposit at least once and generate rake or gross gaming revenue equal to at least 10% of the deposited amount before a withdrawal is processed, and a 30% processing fee can apply if you withdraw before that¹⁵. After verification, withdrawals are processed within 72 hours, and they can only be paid to the account the deposit came from, or a verified alternate account in your name¹⁵.

CoinPoker. Deposits are available in USDT, USDC, BTC, ETH, SOL, BNB, POL and TRX, with absolutely no deposit fees, and bank cards are also accepted²⁰. Withdrawals run from instant to 24 hours³.

Apps, platforms and device requirements

Natural8 is playable on a computer, phone or tablet, either through the browser or by downloading the poker or casino app, and the Cashier is built into the app itself⁹. CoinPoker is fully optimized for mobile play on Android and iOS devices, via the mobile browser or the app²¹. WPT Global positions itself as a poker app first, with cash tables and casino games available on the same platform².

None of the rooms publishes demanding hardware requirements: any reasonably recent phone or laptop handles the software. The practical requirements are a stable connection, since a disconnect mid-hand can cost you the pot, and enough battery to finish a tournament. On WPT Global, if you disconnect during an active game, your stake is returned to your account unless it has already been entered into play¹⁵.

Safer gambling tools and support

All three rooms offer ways to control your play, and it is worth setting them up before you need them rather than after.

Natural8 lets you set daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits; increasing a limit requires a 24-hour wait and then confirmation, which is a deliberate speed bump¹⁶. Self-exclusion runs from as little as 1 hour up to 5 years, or permanently, and you choose the period through the Cashier dashboard or by emailing support@natural8.com²². While self-excluded, your account is closed for the whole period with no access to the games, and your remaining balance is returned under the withdrawal policy⁶. Reactivating after a self-exclusion requires a 24-hour cooling-off period¹⁶. Natural8's support team is available 24 hours a day, every day⁹.

WPT Global handles self-exclusion by email to customercare@wptglobal.com. Requests to increase a self-exclusion period take effect after 24 hours, while decreases take 7 days and only at the operator's discretion, and the room reserves the right to impose a cooling period of up to a year, or close the account outright, for players who repeatedly self-exclude and return¹⁵. Beyond the rooms' own tools, the standard advice applies: set budget and time limits before you play, since tools to monitor your play exist on most gambling sites, and treat poker as entertainment rather than income²³. Two housekeeping rules protect your money: Natural8 charges a GBP 5 monthly fee (or the remaining balance, if less) on accounts inactive for 12 consecutive months, and WPT Global charges USD $10 every 30 days on dormant accounts after a notice period, so do not leave a balance sitting in an account you have stopped using¹⁶.
