What WPT Global is and who runs it

WPT Global is a direct international real-money online poker room, available in more than 135 countries¹. It is not a play-money site and not a social poker app. The games are played for real money, and the operator describes itself as a licensed and regulated online poker platform¹.

The name comes from the World Poker Tour brand, and the room leans on that association in how it presents itself. It is worth being clear about one thing that confuses people: Club WPT Gold is a separate product. It is a training and play platform tailored for North American players, and it is distinct from WPT Global¹. If you have read about Club WPT Gold and assumed it was the same thing, it is not.

WPT Global runs two main product lines under one account: online poker and an online casino. Both are covered by the same terms, the same verification process and the same self-exclusion rules.

Where WPT Global accepts players: the excluded countries list

WPT Global accepts players who are located in supported regions and who are not on its excluded countries list. That applies whether you are traveling or living abroad⁵. The list is the thing to check before you do anything else, because it decides whether you can play at all.

In Canada, Alberta, Ontario and New Brunswick are named separately, so the rest of the country is treated differently from those three provinces².

The practical rule is simple. If you are physically in an excluded territory, you are prohibited from using the services from there, and attempting to access the site from one is itself a breach². The operator also says it prevents players residing in high risk or non-reputable jurisdictions from playing³.

For players in Asia, the three markets people ask about most are covered on their own pages: online casinos in Macau, online casinos in Malaysia and online casinos in Singapore. Macau and Malaysia are not on the WPT Global restricted list; Singapore is.

License, payment agent and player funds protection

WPT Global describes itself as licensed and regulated¹. The license is held from a regulator whose register has not been checked, so treat the license claim as the operator's own statement rather than something independently confirmed here.

What the terms do spell out is how money moves. Deposits and withdrawals are processed by third party payment service providers, and the payment methods available to you are the ones shown on the cashier page for your jurisdiction³. You can only fund your account using a payment method registered in your own name and issued by a licensed financial institution³.

Cash transfers are forbidden. Funds can only be received from players by electronic and traceable funding options listed on the deposit page³. You also cannot move money between accounts: transfers from one account to another are not allowed³.

On winnings, the rule is that payouts go only to beneficiary accounts belonging to the account holder, and only after proper anti-money laundering checks². For the casino side, return to player rates are listed inside each individual game frame, so you can check the RTP of a specific slot or table before you play it³.

Games offered: poker and casino

The poker side covers cash games, multi-table tournaments, Sit and Go's and freerolls¹. That is the full spread you would expect from a dedicated room: ring games running around the clock, scheduled tournaments, and free-to-enter events for players who want to try the software without putting money down.

The casino side covers jackpot slots, blackjack, baccarat and roulette¹. It is a compact casino rather than a thousand-game library, and it sits alongside the poker client rather than replacing it.

A few house rules apply across both. If you disconnect during an active game, the stake is returned to your account unless the stake has already been entered into play². If a game starts but fails or produces an inexact result because of a breakdown in the game account management software, the stakes and winnings from that game are canceled and your balance is restored; winnings from a software or random number generator malfunction are void². If you use a bug to your own advantage, your account is blocked until it is restored to its prior state and any funds unfairly won are debited².

Platforms: download required, no browser play

WPT Global does not offer browser play¹. You have to download the software. It runs on Windows, Mac, iOS and Android¹.

That matters for a few practical reasons. If you play on a work laptop or a borrowed machine, you cannot just open a tab and log in. If you are traveling and only have a tablet with a locked-down app store, check that the app is available in your region before you count on playing. And if you are used to instant-play poker rooms, the download step is an extra few minutes on setup.

The password rule is worth knowing before you register: at least eight characters, containing uppercase letters, lowercase letters and numbers².

Payments: deposits, withdrawals and the 10% wagering rule

The minimum deposit is usually $10 USD, but it varies by deposit method and by where you are based¹. The exact figure for your country and method is shown on the cashier page³.

The rule that catches people out is the wagering requirement. Your deposit must be wagered at least once before you can withdraw⁴. On top of that, you must generate rake or gross gaming revenue equivalent to at least 10% of your deposited amount before a withdrawal request can be processed³. In plain terms: deposit $100, and you need to put it into play and generate $10 of rake or GGR before the cashier will let the money out.

Withdrawals go back the way they came. You can only withdraw to the account and payment method from where your deposit originated, or to a verified alternate account in your own name³. If you used several deposit methods, withdrawals may need to be made proportionately, based on the primary source of recent deposits⁴. The simplest approach is to withdraw to the same method you used for your most recent deposit⁴.

On timing, the withdrawal policy says requests are typically processed within 12 hours⁴. The terms give a longer outer limit: once verification is complete to the operator's satisfaction, it will endeavor to process withdrawals or refunds within 72 hours³. Withdrawals also go through internal audits for anti-fraud and anti-money laundering compliance⁴, and the operator reserves the right to cancel a withdrawal request in cases of suspected fraud, insufficient gameplay or other concerns⁴.

The minimum withdrawal is $10 USD according to the withdrawal policy⁴, while the terms state a minimum of $5 USD or currency equivalent². Maximum withdrawal is up to your total account balance, subject to the limits of your payment method, and each method has its own daily or per-transaction limits⁴.

One more charge to be aware of: if you leave withdrawable funds sitting in an inactive account, the operator can deduct a USD $10 administration fee every 30 days after a grace period, once 30 days have passed since notice².

Verification: documents and deadlines

All players must fill in identification details when opening an account and supply information and supporting documentation to comply with anti-money laundering regulations². Everyone has to pass a KYC review confirming age and identity⁶.

The deadline is 30 days. If you fail to provide requested documentation within 30 days of the request, the operator reserves the right to restrict or terminate your account². If the outstanding verification relates to a withdrawal or refund and it is not completed within 30 days, the withdrawal or refund request may be canceled³.

If you move permanently to a new country, email customercare@wptglobal.com to update your address. This keeps your account passing verification and compliant with the rules⁸. If the new country is on the excluded list, you will not be able to keep playing.

Account rules: one account, name matching and prohibited software

You can only hold one account. The operator reserves the right to close any additional accounts opened in any way, and to retain the money in them³. It also rejects or blocks anonymous accounts or accounts in fictitious names where the beneficial owner cannot be clearly identified³.

The name on your account must match your legal name and identity, and it must also match the name on the funding options you use to deposit or withdraw³. This is the single most common reason payouts get held up: a card or bank account in someone else's name, or a nickname on the account.

Prohibited software is taken seriously. Robots and external player assistance programs are banned, and AI or real-time assistance may be detected by scanning software².

If you are identified as under the legal age after age verification, your winnings are forfeited and retained by the company, and your account is closed².

On tax, the declaration and payment of all applicable taxes on winnings is your sole responsibility. The company may report or withhold amounts if required by legislation².

Responsible gaming: self-exclusion and support organizations

You can request a definite or permanent self-exclusion by contacting customer service at customercare@wptglobal.com¹¹. You can also request a periodic or permanent self-exclusion by emailing the customer care team. A periodic exclusion lifts automatically at the end of the period you chose; a permanent exclusion stays in force until you contact the responsible gaming team for a review¹⁰.

All restrictions apply across the entire WPT Global product range, including poker and casino games¹¹. That means a self-exclusion covers both sides of the account, not just the one you were playing.

Two timing rules matter. A request to increase the period of self-exclusion takes effect 24 hours after you make it, while a request to decrease it takes effect after 7 days, at the operator's discretion³. And if you want to withdraw your remaining balance, excluding bonus funds, you must submit that request before the self-exclusion starts; it cannot be validated during the self-exclusion period². After a definite self-exclusion or an account closure following responsible gambling issues, the remaining balance is withdrawable only up to the value of the originating deposit².

The operator also reserves the right to enforce a cooling period of up to one year, or definite closure of accounts, in cases of frequent temporary self-exclusion or frequent self-exclusion requests².
