What a Singapore Pools Account is and what it lets you do
A Singapore Pools Account is the account you need to place bets online with Singapore Pools, the country's sole legal gaming operator for lottery, sports betting and horse wagering5. Without one, you can still bet at physical outlets with cash, but online betting, by website, app or phone, requires an account.
With an account you can place Sports, Lottery and Horse Racing bets and track your transactions online7. Winnings are credited automatically into your account, generally within 60 minutes after results are confirmed for online sports bets1. You can pull up your betting, deposit and payout records for the past 6 months on demand through the Transaction History feature, on both the website and the app1.
A few things are exclusive to account holders. Asian Handicap football betting is offered to Singapore Pools Account customers only, and there is a TOTO subscription option available exclusively through the account1. The account can only be used to place bets online and by phone, not at outlets9.
If you are new to the wider picture, see gambling in Singapore for how Singapore Pools fits alongside the casinos and other options.
Who can open an account: age, residency and exclusion rules
To open an account you must be at least 21 years of age, and be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident, or a foreigner residing in Singapore with a valid Foreign Identification Number (FIN)1. Foreigners with a FIN must provide a Singapore residential address and a Singapore phone number during registration2. All applicants need a local mobile number, since one-time passwords are sent to it for every login1.

You cannot open an account if you are an undischarged bankrupt or subject to a casino exclusion order, or if you are affected by an exclusion under the law, such as a family exclusion order under the Casino Control Act or an exclusion from casino premises by operation of law10. People under such exclusions are not permitted to open or maintain a Singapore Pools online betting account11. If you believe an exclusion no longer applies to you, you can log in to the NCPG portal with SingPass or call NCPG at 6354 8154 to confirm, then contact Singapore Pools Customer Service at 6786 668811.
Note the age difference with the outlets: at Singapore Pools' physical outlets and authorized retailers the minimum age is 18, but for the online account it is 2112. Livewire venues require guests to be at least 21.
How to register: SingPass Myinfo, online form and identity verification
You sign up through the official Singapore Pools website or mobile app, either with the online registration form or with MyInfo through SingPass1. MyInfo is the preferred route because no documents are needed; the form pulls your details straight from the government record2.
Activation requires identity verification, and you have three ways to do it1:
- SingPass MyInfo, the fastest option, done as part of sign-up.
- An online video call with a Singapore Pools verification officer.
- A visit to any branch with your NRIC, or an official document containing your FIN, plus proof of residential address.
For the video call route, the online verification service runs 9am to 9pm daily13. Use Google Chrome on Android or Windows devices, and Safari on Apple devices13. During the call you place your ID in the red box under your chin so the officer can check it13. FIN holders register with their FIN number and must upload a supporting document showing proof of residential address; accepted file types are JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP and TIFF13. If you hold a SCDF or SPF ID, upload the front page of your passport as the supporting document13. Selected long-term pass holders without a physical FIN card can use their MyICA digital pass with QR code instead2.
Proof of address documents must be dated within 3 months of issue, such as a bill, statement or letter from HDB, a service and conservancy bill, or a letter from your bank, insurer, cable TV provider, telco or utilities provider2.
After registration you are directed to a play responsibly acknowledgment section, then you receive an SMS when the account is ready; log in and complete your profile to start using it13. Verification timing: with MyInfo through SingPass, eligibility is verified within 1 hour; with the manual form, Singapore Pools checks your application within two days after identity verification is complete1. Completing your profile after activation is usually processed within 1 hour1. If you do not present the required documents within three months of submitting the application form, the application is deemed withdrawn4.
There is no trial account2. And note that SingPass cannot be used to log in to the account itself; you log in with your username and a one-time password sent to your registered mobile number2.
Monthly deposit and betting limits: how they work and how to change them
When you apply, you must set two limits yourself: a Monthly Betting Limit, the amount you wish to spend, and a Monthly Deposit Limit, the amount you wish to deposit into your account1. These are your own caps, and they are enforced by the system.
You can change both limits at any time through the website or mobile app4. The key rule: any increase takes effect only 24 hours after your request is accepted, while a reduction takes effect immediately4. The 24-hour cooling-off on increases is deliberate, to stop you raising your cap in the heat of the moment.
The system notifies you when you reach 50%, 75% and 100% of your Monthly Deposit and Betting Limits14. If you try to place a bet that would exceed your Monthly Betting Limit, or you lack sufficient funds, the bet is rejected6. You can also get help adjusting limits by calling the Customer Service line at (65) 6786 668814.
Deposits and withdrawals: Bank Link, PayNow and restricted payment methods
Deposits can be made by cash or NETS at Singapore Pools branches, online through eNETS, or online through bank-linked arrangements including PayNow4. In practice, most account holders use Bank Link or PayNow QR from the website or app.
Bank Link links your account to a personal DBS/POSB, OCBC or UOB bank account that is not connected to any overdraft facility3. On the web, select "Wallet Balance" at the top, then "Deposit" and "Bank Link"; in the app, select "Top Up" at the top right, then "Deposit" and "Bank Link"15. Each bank link transfer, deposit or withdrawal, is subject to a limit of up to S$200,000 per transaction, and transfers are instant both ways3. There is no extra charge for using bank link3. If you make too many unsuccessful attempts, the Bank Link (FAST) service is disabled and re-enables after an hour3.
PayNow QR deposits work similarly: on the web, select "Wallet Balance", then "Deposit" and "PayNow QR"16. Funds transferred must come from a personal bank account in the same name as your Singapore Pools Account3.
eNETS deposits have a minimum of S$100 in multiples of S$10, with a S$0.80 transaction fee per transaction17. Bank Link and PayNow deposits carry no transaction fee3.
There are firm restrictions on where money can come from. You cannot link to or deposit from a joint account, an account with an overdraft facility, a corporate account, or a credit card, credit line or any other source of credit4. Third-party bank accounts are not allowed; only your own personal bank account3. Credit cards are not among the deposit modes offered in the mobile app18.
Withdrawals are instant through Bank Link or PayNow3. For a Bank Link withdrawal, log in, select My Wallet, then "Withdrawal", and choose Bank Link; the maximum is up to S$200,000 per withdrawal19. For a PayNow withdrawal, select My Wallet, then "Withdrawal" and "PayNow", enter the amount, enter your password and submit; the money is credited to the bank account linked to your NRIC or mobile number10. You may only withdraw to a PayNow bank account registered under the same NRIC/FIN or mobile number as your Singapore Pools Account3. If you prefer cash or check, you can collect at Singapore Pools' premises or a branch, but you must collect within 48 hours of your request, before close of business, with a completed withdrawal form and valid photo ID; otherwise the request is canceled and the funds return to your account4.
What you can bet on: sports, lottery and horse racing products
Through the account you can bet on TOTO, 4D, football matches, motor racing and horse racing4. In product terms that means three families of bets7:
- Sports: pre-match bets up until sales close before the event starts, plus live bets while the event is ongoing6. Football betting includes Singles, Multiples and Live betting, and Asian Handicap is exclusive to account customers6. You can keep up to 10 events in your watchlist, and event search needs at least 3 characters6.
- Lottery: TOTO and 4D, including a TOTO subscription option exclusive to account holders1.
- Horse racing: bets can be placed right up to the start of the race7. At outlets, horse racing bets are only available at selected locations, but online the whole card is open to you9.
For pre-event sports bets, including Half-Time bet types, winnings are credited within 60 minutes after the event concludes and results are verified6. For more detail on each product, see TOTO, 4D, football betting and horse racing in Singapore.
The mobile app: where to download it and what it does
The Singapore Pools mobile app gives you access to online betting services, lottery results, sports fixtures and results, and a QR code function that replaces traditional betslips when you bet at outlets18. The QR code outlet betting needs no sign-up at all18.

Where to get it depends on your phone:
- iPhone: download from the Apple App Store18.
- Android: the app is not on the Google Play Store due to Google's internal policy, so download it only from the official Singapore Pools website1. After installing, disable "Unknown sources" on your device, and never download from unverified sites18.
The app requires Android 13 and above or iOS 16 and above, as of December 202518. BETA versions of operating systems are not supported2. The app store may ask for age verification when you download or update the app11.
The updated app lets you save your favorite 4D and TOTO numbers for quicker betting, add football events to a watchlist to follow the action, and watch live horse racing streams while betting in the app1. For security, a session ends after 30 minutes of inactivity or when another session is initiated18. Like the website, the app cannot be accessed from overseas18.
Account rules: one account, no overseas access and bet cancellation
A few house rules shape how you use the account:
- One account per person. Each customer can have only one account, and it is personal and non-transferable2. All account activities, including registration, must be conducted by you personally; nobody can sign up on your behalf2.
- Singapore only. Account holders may only place bets from Singapore; betting through foreign IP addresses is prohibited4. The website, app and registration form simply cannot be reached from overseas2.
- Bets are final. Once a bet has been accepted, it cannot be changed or canceled4.
- No bots or manipulation. Accounts suspected of cheating, hacking or manipulating betting operations, including through artificial intelligence or bots, can be suspended or terminated without notice, and bets placed that way are void4.
- No third-party use. If someone else uses your account, or you bet through another person's account, Singapore Pools can refuse, discontinue or reverse the bets and terminate the account4.
If your account is closed, you can log in to restart it yourself11. If you forgot your username or password, use the "Forgot login details" option on the login page, enter your NRIC or FIN plus your registered mobile number, and an OTP will be sent to your phone; after entering it, your username is displayed or you can create a new password20. You can update your mobile number, email address, residential address, and education and employment details yourself through Account Update; changes to your mobile number, NRIC or FIN can take up to two days to process2.
Self-exclusion and safer gambling tools
Beyond the limits you set yourself, there are stronger tools if you want them.
Self-exclusion blocks you from your Singapore Pools Account if you are an existing holder, and prevents you opening a new one21. In Singapore, self-exclusion can cover casinos (Resorts World Sentosa and Marina Bay Sands), jackpot machine rooms at private clubs, and Singapore Pools online betting, individually or together21. You apply online through the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) website using SingPass, or in person at ServiceSG centers including Bukit Canberra, Kampong Chai Chee CC, Keat Hong CC, Nee Soon Central CC, Our Tampines Hub, One Punggol and The Frontier CC21. Organizations with a Corppass account can also facilitate group self-exclusion for their employees or members, with the individuals' consent21. During an exclusion period the account cannot be used for betting or deposits, and removal requires a revocation application to NCPG, again through SingPass4. If you are excluded, you can still withdraw your account balance by check through Customer Service at 6786 668811.
Self-assessment. Singapore Pools Account customers can take the Problem Gambling Severity Index (PGSI) test to get a read on their betting behavior22.
Everyday safeguards. Login requires a one-time password sent to your phone, which cuts the chance of unauthorized access1. Betting slips and ticket backs carry the "Play Responsibly" message and helpline11. If gambling stops being fun, see gambling help in Singapore.
Fees, charges and interest on balances
The account itself is cheap to run.

| Item | Fee |
|---|---|
| Registration | No registration fee2 |
| Membership | No membership fee2 |
| Horse Racing Channel and live streaming (optional services) | Monthly subscription fees2 |
| Placing online sports bets | No transaction fee6 |
| Deposits by Bank Link or PayNow | No transaction fee3 |
| Deposits by eNETS | S$0.80 per transaction17 |
No interest is paid on any deposit balance in the account4. A few administrative charges exist at the edges: Singapore Pools may levy an administrative charge for printout requests beyond the monthly limit, for transaction history beyond the preceding 180 days, and for processing the refund of a deposit rejected after verification or probity checks4. If you ask Singapore Pools to search for the official record of a lottery or betting ticket, there is a S$100 search fee12. And if your account is terminated, any remaining funds can be withdrawn by check within five years; after that, unclaimed monies are forfeited4.
Getting help: customer service and account support
The main Customer Service line is 6786 6688, and it runs 24 hours a day, every day2. Use it for registration questions, doubts about possible scams, limit adjustments, Bank Link problems and anything else about the account2. The head office main line is 6216 816823.
A few practical notes for dealing with them: have your NRIC or FIN handy, since account matters are tied to it. If a verified prize has not reached your bank via PayNow, Singapore Pools will investigate and respond within 3 to 5 working days11. And remember that all account activities must be conducted by you personally, so a family member cannot call about your account on your behalf2.
