Who can enter: Vietnamese citizens and foreigners
The Grand Ho Tram is one of the few places in Vietnam where the door rules have changed recently, so it is worth getting this straight before you drive out there.
If you hold a foreign passport, you are straightforwardly welcome. The casino says it is available to both international guests and foreign guests who live in Vietnam1. That covers tourists on a two-week trip and expats who have been in the country for years. Bring your passport. It is the document that proves who you are at the entrance, and casino staff check identification.
If you are a Vietnamese citizen, the position is newer. A government resolution issued on November 26, 2025 allows eligible Vietnamese citizens to enter the casino at the Ho Tram project as part of a pilot2. The pilot runs for five years from that date6. Ho Tram is one of a small group of projects covered, alongside Phu Quoc and Van Don8.
Two practical points follow from that. First, "eligible" is doing real work in that sentence. The pilot does not open the door to every Vietnamese citizen automatically; it sets conditions, and the casino applies them at entry9. Second, because the pilot has an end date, the arrangement is not permanent in the way that foreigner access is. If you are a Vietnamese citizen planning a visit specifically for the casino, it is worth confirming your eligibility with the resort before you travel.
For everyone, the casino verifies identification documents to confirm age at the entrance3. There is no published entry fee for the casino floor itself.
Location and how to get there
The Grand Ho Tram sits on the coast in Ho Tram Hamlet, Ho Tram Commune, in what is now Ho Chi Minh City, in the area that used to be Ba Ria-Vung Tau province3. The resort spreads along 2.2 kilometers of beach4.

The drive from Ho Chi Minh City takes about two to two and a half hours3. The resort itself describes it as a scenic two-hour drive4. Either figure is realistic depending on where in the city you start and what the traffic is doing on the way out.
There is no practical public transport option that gets you to the door. Most people arrive by private car, by taxi or through a resort transfer. If you are staying overnight, arrange the transfer with the hotel when you book; if you are going just for the casino, a car and driver for the day is the usual approach. The resort is a destination in its own right rather than something you pass on the way to somewhere else, so build the travel time into your plan rather than treating it as a quick detour.
Games: 90+ live tables and 500 slot machines
The gaming floor is large. The casino area spans over 5,000 square meters, with a mass gaming area of 2,936 square meters1. Inside it you will find more than 90 live tables and 500 electronic gaming machines1.
The table games on offer are the ones you would expect from a major Asian casino3:
- Baccarat
- Blackjack
- Roulette
- Sic bo
- Texas Hold'em
Baccarat is the anchor game in this part of the world, and sic bo is the other one you will see busy. If you have not played either before, it is worth reading up before you go so you are not learning the betting layout with a dealer waiting on you.
| Type of gambling | Where | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Live table games | Main casino floor | Baccarat, blackjack, roulette, sic bo, Texas Hold'em3 |
| Slot machines | Main casino floor | Around 500 machines3 |
| Electronic betting | Main casino floor | Electronic betting options alongside tables and slots10 |
| VIP table gaming | Pearl Room and VIP area | Private tables, limited number of players3 |
Legal at Ho Tram?: Yes
The electronic side is not an afterthought. Alongside the live tables there are approximately 500 modern slot machines, and the casino also offers electronic betting options10. If you prefer machines to tables, or want to play at your own pace without a dealer, that is where you will spend your time.
VIP gaming: 2,500sqm high-limit area
Above the main floor sits a VIP gaming area of 2,500 square meters1. Within it, the Pearl Room is the casino's flagship private area, designed for customers who want a quiet environment, with private gaming tables and a strictly limited number of players3.
That last detail matters more than it sounds. A capped player count is what separates a private room from a busy high-limit pit: you get space, a dealer who is not splitting attention across six tables, and a calmer pace. If you are used to playing at higher stakes, this is the part of the property built for you.
Access to VIP areas at casinos in this region normally runs through the casino's own host or membership system rather than a walk-up ticket, so if you are planning to play at that level, contact the casino in advance rather than arriving and asking at the cage. The general mechanics of how these rooms work across Asia are covered in our guide to VIP rooms and private gaming.
If you are new to the games themselves, the table game guides are a better starting point than the VIP floor: baccarat rules and sic bo rules cover the two games you will see most.
Resort facilities: rooms, dining and the Ho Tram Strip
The casino is one part of a much larger resort. The Grand Ho Tram has over 1,250 rooms, suites and villas along its 2.2 kilometers of beach4. Those rooms sit across three five-star resorts on the site5.

Food and drink are not a problem. The complex holds more than 17 restaurants and bars, nine swimming pools and three spa areas5. The Bluffs, the golf course designed by Greg Norman, is part of the same property5. If you are coming for a weekend rather than an evening, that combination is what makes the trip work: golf or pool in the day, casino at night.
The wider Ho Tram Strip is a resort development rather than a single building, so distances between the hotel towers, the casino and the golf course are real. Ask at check-in where the casino entrance is relative to your tower before you set off walking.
For comparison with other large resorts in the region, our Asia casino destinations comparison sets out how Ho Tram's scale and facilities line up against Macau, Singapore and Manila. If you are weighing Ho Tram against Vietnam's other large resort casino, Hoiana Casino is the closest equivalent.
Opening hours and contact
The casino runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week3. There is no closing time to plan around, and no day of the week when the floor shuts. That applies to the casino itself; the resort's restaurants, pools and spa keep their own hours, so a late-night arrival gets you a gaming floor, not a full breakfast menu.
The casino's contact number is (+84) 254 378 80223. The same number is listed as the resort hotline5. Use it for questions about entry eligibility, VIP access or transfers before you travel, particularly if you are a Vietnamese citizen checking whether you qualify under the pilot.
If you want to understand how Vietnam's casino rules work more broadly, including which venues allow which players, our Vietnam country guide covers the whole picture. For the mechanics of buying in and cashing out once you are inside, see casino chips and cashier.
