Japan Racing Service announced on August 28, 2026 that BAOO Takasaki, a regional horse racing off-track betting facility, will hold a renewal opening on September 28 at 392-4 Kyome-cho, Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture1. Business at the current facility runs until September 231.
The same announcement set opening dates for two other regional racing off-track betting sites. BAOO Oga, at 294-1055 Funakoshi Aza Naiko, Oga, Akita Prefecture, opens on September 71. BAOO Mizobe, at 2356 Arakawa, Mizobe-cho, Kirishima, Kagoshima Prefecture, opens on September 191. From October 10, the sites will also operate as J-PLACE outlets selling Japan Racing Association (JRA) betting tickets1.

"日本レーシングサービスは８月２８日、地方競馬共同場外発売所のＢＡＯＯ男鹿（秋田県男鹿市船越字内子２９４番地１０５５）を９月７日に、ＢＡＯＯみぞべ（鹿児島県霧島市溝辺町有川２３５６番地）を９月１９日にオープンすることを発表した"
"ＢＡＯＯ高崎は９月２８日に群馬県高崎市京目町３９２番地４でリニューアルオープンする"
What it means for players
BAOO outlets are off-track betting sites for local horse racing in Japan, the regional circuit known as chiho keiba. The Takasaki site serves bettors in Gunma Prefecture, and the move means a gap of several days between the last day at the old address on September 23 and the renewal opening on September 281. During that window, no betting is available at that facility.
The Oga and Mizobe openings add two new locations for regional racing bets in Akita and Kagoshima prefectures1. From October 10, all three sites will also sell JRA tickets as J-PLACE outlets, which means bettors there can wager on central horse racing in Japan as well as the regional product1.
The announcement did not state opening hours, the number of betting terminals, or whether the Takasaki move changes the range of bets on offer. Those details have not been reported1. Anyone planning to bet at the new Takasaki address should note that the facility is a different location from the current one, not a temporary closure of the same site1.
What happens next
BAOO Oga opens September 7, and BAOO Mizobe opens September 191. The current BAOO Takasaki facility closes after September 23, and the renewal opening at the new address follows on September 281. J-PLACE operations selling JRA tickets begin at the sites on October 101.
