Hann Casino Resort: the largest casino in Clark Freeport

Hann Casino Resort is the flagship. It sits on a 21-hectare property and its operator calls it the first and only luxury integrated resort in Central Luzon⁵. That scale matters: unlike the smaller casino hotels around Angeles, Hann is designed as a destination in itself, with the casino as its centerpiece alongside a golf resort.

The resort is licensed by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and operates under PAGCOR's Code of Practice for Responsible Gaming⁶. If you are coming from Manila for the day or the weekend, Hann is the closest thing Clark has to the resorts of Entertainment City Manila, just on a smaller scale and without the crowds.

Hann Casino Resort: tables, slots and VIP clubs

Hann Casino Resort expansion: gaming floor, dining and phases

Hann is not standing still. The operator announced a PHP 20 billion casino and golf resort expansion that will increase the gaming floor area by 3,588 square meters, add three new dining areas and additional parking⁵.

The work is being done in phases. Construction was underway as of the announcement, with the first phase set for completion by the end of that year and the second phase expected to be finished by the first quarter of 2026⁵. Midori Clark Hotel & Casino: five-star resort next to the airport

Midori Clark Hotel & Casino is Clark's five-star option. The operator bills it as Clark's first five-star hotel to use recycled water resources, which tells you something about its positioning: polished, modern and environmentally conscious².

Location is its strongest card. It is just a 10-minute drive from Clark International Airport, which makes it the most convenient casino resort in the zone for anyone flying in². It sits on Kalayaan St., C.M. Recto Avenue inside the Clark Freeport Zone, about 90 kilometers north of Manila².

The hotel side offers the full resort experience, and the casino side means you never need to leave the property to play. For a first visit, Midori is the easiest option if you want a comfortable base with gaming on site and the airport close by.

Midori Clark Casino: games and how the two buildings connect

Midori's layout is distinctive: it is two separate buildings, one housing the hotel and one housing the casino, connected by a sky bridge⁹. So you sleep in one building, cross the bridge, and you are on the gaming floor without ever stepping outside.

The casino floor is built around advanced slot machines and electronic games rather than a large spread of live tables⁹. If your main interest is table games like baccarat or blackjack, Hann is the better fit; if you like machines, Midori's floor is dedicated to them.

Casino Plus operates at Hotel Stotsenberg in Clark, and it is unusual because it is really two products in one: a physical casino and one of the most widely used online gaming platforms in the Philippines.

Fontana Casino: closed and its status since the shutdown

Fontana is the name most people remember when they think of Clark gambling, and the question everyone asks is whether it is still open. It is not. The sprawling resort and casino enclave ceased operations when the government placed Luzon under enhanced community quarantine in mid-March 2020, and its casino, junket and hotel operations have long been suspended. Fontana has zero operations at present³.

The site still exists inside the Clark Freeport Zone in Mabalacat, Pampanga, and its website still describes the property as it was: 49 gaming tables running baccarat, blackjack and roulette around the clock, around a hundred slot and video machines, four VIP rooms and a Premium Player's Pit for members, with free entry for visitors 18 and over with valid ID¹⁵. That description reflects the casino before the shutdown, not a working venue today, so do not plan a visit around it.

Getting there was never the problem: Fontana sits roughly two hours from Metro Manila via the NLEX and then the SCTEX, and only minutes from Clark International Airport¹⁵. If you are driving into the freeport zone for any reason, keep a valid ID handy for the freeport gate¹⁵.

So if you are heading to Clark to gamble, the practical answer is simple: go to Hann, Midori or Casino Plus instead.

Entry rules and age limits: 18, 21 and ID requirements

The standard rule across PAGCOR casinos and licensed sites is that gambling is for people 21 years old and above only⁴. Hann states it plainly: guests below 21 are prohibited inside the casino premises⁶. Casino Plus applies the same 21-and-over rule to its online registration, along with a valid government-issued photo ID and an active local mobile number¹⁴.

The rule is the same for Filipinos and foreign visitors; there is no separate regime for tourists in Clark the way there is in some countries. Bring a passport if you are visiting from abroad, since that is the ID staff will expect at the door and at the freeport gate.

One point of confusion: Fontana's old website quoted an 18+ entry age¹⁵, which was that property's rule before it closed. It does not apply anywhere you can actually play today, and the working casinos in Clark all use 21.

Where the casinos are and how to get there

All three working casinos sit inside the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga, with Angeles City on the doorstep.

By air, Clark International Airport is the obvious route: Midori is a 10-minute drive away², and the others are minutes further. By road from Metro Manila, expect roughly two hours via the NLEX and then the SCTEX, the same route that serves Fontana and the rest of the zone¹⁵. Keep a valid ID for the freeport gate as you enter the zone¹⁵.

Within the zone, everything is a short taxi or hotel shuttle ride apart, so you can easily visit more than one casino in an evening. Angeles City's restaurants and nightlife are just outside the gate if you want a break from the tables.

Currencies, table limits and dress code

Casinos in Clark operate mainly in Philippine pesos, and that is the currency at most tables and machines. One quirk worth knowing: PAGCOR's casino regulatory manual sets a minimum table limit of USD 500 per hand for high roller baccarat and blackjack tables played in US dollars¹⁶. Outside those USD high-roller tables, play is in pesos, with minimums set by each casino and clearly marked at each gaming table.

For practical purposes:

• Money: Bring pesos or withdraw locally. Exchange counters handle foreign currency at the resorts.
• Table limits: Regular tables have house-set minimums; USD-denominated high roller tables start at USD 500 per hand¹⁶.
• Dress: Clark's casinos are resort-casual rather than jacket-and-tie. Smart casual is the safe choice: skip beachwear, sportswear and ripped clothing, and wear proper shoes on the gaming floor.
