Magnum 4D Games and Payouts

Magnum 4D: Malaysia's licensed 4D numbers game

Magnum 4D is Malaysia's numbers forecast game, run by a company whose business is its licensed 4-Digit ("4D") numbers forecast betting and its variation games². Alongside Sports Toto and Da Ma Cai, Magnum is one of the operators licensed by the government to run lottery and number forecast games in the country³. If you want the wider picture of licensed and unlicensed gambling in Malaysia, see our guide to gambling in Malaysia.

The core of the game is simple. Each draw produces 23 winning numbers, randomly drawn using see-through electromechanical drums, so the whole thing is done in the open¹. You pick numbers, buy a ticket at an outlet, and check the results after the draw. Draws are held regularly, and you can buy tickets for up to 8 draws in advance if you do not want to visit the outlet every time¹.

Magnum 4D tickets got a makeover in 2025, so what you buy today looks fresher than what long-time players remember⁴. The game itself has not changed: it is still a small stake, a printed ticket and a draw.

The games on offer: 4D Classic, Jackpot, Jackpot Gold and Magnum Life

There are four Magnum games, and they layer on top of each other:

• 4D Classic. The original game. Pick a 4-digit number from 0000 to 9999 and match it against the 23 winning numbers. Easy wins go up to RM 3,500 for every RM 1¹.
• 4D Jackpot. Pick two 4-digit numbers instead of one, for a shot at a rolling jackpot. Launched as the game that made millionaires out of ordinary RM 2 tickets.
• 4D Jackpot Gold. A 6-digit number plus a 2-digit golden number, launched on November 8, 2014, with its own prize ladder⁵.
• Magnum Life. Launched on April 23, 2018, with a grand prize of RM 1,000 every day for 20 years rather than a single lump sum⁵.

All four are sold at the same Magnum 4D outlets, and you can put several games on one visit. For how the other licensed operators compare, see our pages on Sports Toto games and prizes and Da Ma Cai games and prizes.

4D Jackpot: how it works and what it costs

4D Jackpot takes the Classic game and doubles it. You pick two 4-digit numbers, each from 0000 to 9999, and place RM 2 for each play⁶. Your two numbers then work as a pair against the 4D Classic draw results.

The winning conditions are:

• Jackpot 1: match any two of the 4D Classic top prizes, meaning both of your numbers land in the top three¹.
• Jackpot 2: match one of the top prizes and one of the 10 special prizes¹.

The jackpot is a rolling pool, so it grows draw after draw until someone hits it. The headline figure on the Magnum site is an estimated amount, with prize sharing rules applied if multiple winners split it⁶.

4D Jackpot prizes, from RM 28 to the headline RM 25,417,000

The advertised 4D Jackpot on the Magnum site currently stands at RM 25,417,000, an estimated amount with prize rules applied¹. A recent Jackpot 1 prize pool was RM 4,691,271.02, and a Jackpot 2 prize paid RM 131,107.41¹.

Below the jackpots, the fixed prize ladder per RM 2 play is⁶:

The big wins are real and well documented. Recent Jackpot 1 payouts include:

• RM 16,973,232, won on draw 245/25 in August 2025 by a player in Selangor using a Lucky Pick ticket⁷
• RM 13,256,447, won on draw 259/25 in September 2025 by a Selangor couple, with the winning numbers 9523 and 5763⁸
• RM 10,610,543, won on draw 356/26 in April 2026 at Permas Jaya, Johor Bahru, with the numbers 2106 (2nd Prize) and 0963 (3rd Prize)⁹
• RM 8,169,660, won on draw 388/26 on July 1, 2026 with an RM 2 ticket, numbers 8852 and 5573¹⁰
• RM 13,166,042, won on March 14, 2026 in Century Garden, Johor Bahru, by a player of over 20 years, using a System Play-08 bet of RM 56 with the numbers 9955 and 3226¹¹
• RM 3,495,032, won on March 18, 2026 in Masai, Johor, by a player with over 50 years of experience, numbers 9991 and 3337¹¹
• RM 3,107,049, won on March 22, 2026 in Subang Jaya, Selangor, numbers 1368 and 1493¹¹

One winner from Masai, Johor had been playing for more than 50 years before his numbers 9991 and 3337 landed an RM 3,495,032 Jackpot 1 prize on March 18, 2026, which gives you a sense of how deeply the game is woven into everyday Malaysian life¹¹.

Jackpot Gold: 6-digit numbers plus the golden number

Jackpot Gold, launched on November 8, 2014, is the harder game with the bigger ladder⁵. Instead of a 4-digit number, you pick a 6-digit number plus a 2-digit golden number from 00 to 19¹². A play costs RM 2¹².

To win Jackpot Gold 1, you must match the 6 winning numbers plus the 2-digit golden number¹². That is a long shot, which is why the jackpot rolls so high, but the prize ladder below it pays out at fixed amounts, so partial matches still return cash.

You can try the game, called mgold, through pre-play on Magnum PlayNow in the app or at your nearest Magnum 4D outlet¹³.

Jackpot Gold prize table: RM 4 up to RM 12,199,000

The headline figure for Jackpot Gold is RM 12,199,000 with one golden ticket, and the current jackpot pool stands at RM 12,757,763.45, an estimated amount with prize sharing rules applied¹. The fixed prize ladder per RM 2 play is¹²:

So even the bottom rung returns double your stake, and the third prize at RM 100,000 is a life-changing amount on its own¹².

Advance play options: Roll and Permutate

Both 4D Jackpot and Jackpot Gold offer two shortcut bet types that cover more combinations without you writing them all out.

Roll. You replace one digit in your number with an R, and the system auto-generates all 10 combinations, 0 through 9, for that position¹². In 4D Jackpot the R replaces one of your chosen digits and can be at any position: for example 12R4, with the R in the third position, becomes 1204, 1214, and so on up to 1294, 10 combinations in all⁶. You pay RM 2 per combination, so one Roll costs RM 20, and rolling both of your two Jackpot numbers costs RM 200⁶. In Jackpot Gold you pick 5 digits and the 6th becomes the R, also RM 20 total, and you can Roll at any position in your number¹².

Permutate. This covers all possible number combinations of your chosen number¹². A 4-digit number with four different digits, like 1234, gives 24 combinations (1243, 2143, 2134, and so on up to 4321), costing RM 48 at RM 2 per combination⁶. A 6-digit Jackpot Gold number like 181181 gives 15 combinations, or RM 30¹². If any of the numbers wins, you get the full prize¹².

The trade-off is straightforward: Roll and Permutate buy you many more chances at the prize, but the ticket costs multiply accordingly.

Magnum Life: RM 1,000 a day for 20 years and System Play costs

Magnum Life, launched on April 23, 2018, is the game with a different shape of prize⁵. The Grand Prize is RM 1,000 every day for 20 years, which totals about RM 7.3 million over the full prize period⁴. Instead of one check, the winner gets a daily payment for two decades.

Magnum Life is played with System Play, where you choose a set of numbers and the bet covers the combinations. The costs are¹⁴:

There is an extra layer for app users. M Premium, available exclusively to MyMagnum 4D app users, adds a RM 100,000 bonus reward on top of the Magnum Life Grand Prize, paid in full when the Grand Prize is claimed¹⁵. Membership also comes with its own features and referral rewards through the app¹⁶.

Who can play and claim: minimum age 21

Magnum 4D is open to anyone in Malaysia who wants to buy a ticket, with one firm line: no person under the age of 21 is allowed to purchase a ticket or claim any prizes¹⁷. That applies to citizens, foreign residents and visitors alike, since the check happens at the outlet when you buy.

Magnum also offers self-check tools, including a two-minute self-assessment quiz and a Gaming Calculator that takes less than a minute, if you want to look at your own playing habits¹⁷. For where to get help with gambling in Malaysia, see our gambling help page.

Buying tickets and claiming prizes: outlets, scams and illegal tickets

Tickets are sold at Magnum 4D outlets across the country, and you can buy up to 8 draws in advance¹. There is even a Magnum 4D counter at Resorts World Genting, listed in the complex directory, if you are up at the hill resort¹. For that trip, see our Genting Highlands trip guide.

Where you claim depends on how much you won¹:

There are no limits on prizes claimed at any Magnum 4D Regional Office for a 4D Classic winning ticket⁵.

Two warnings are worth knowing, both from Magnum itself. First, only tickets bought from legal Magnum 4D outlets are accepted when claiming prizes, and purchasing illegal tickets may result in prosecution by the authorities¹⁷. Second, a well-known scam strategy is selling "winning tickets" at a discount, with the seller claiming they are somehow unable to claim the prize themselves¹⁷. If someone offers you a discounted winning ticket, that is the scam working exactly as designed.
