Cashing out crypto winnings to a local bank account
When you win in crypto at an online casino, the money does not arrive in your bank account by itself. You have to move it through three separate stages, and each one is a different transaction with different rules.
The first stage is the withdrawal from the casino to your personal crypto wallet. The second is moving those coins from your wallet to an exchange or other service that can sell them. The third is the sale itself, followed by a transfer from the exchange to your local bank account.
Compare that with fiat gambling, where the operator often does the whole job in one step. A Visa Debit deposit moves funds from your bank account to your casino balance in an instant5. DuitNow withdrawals in Malaysia reach your bank account instantly once the casino approves the request6. Japan's official toto lottery transfers winnings automatically to the bank account of anyone who bought a ticket online, so there is nothing to cash out at all7. Crypto adds flexibility on the way in, but it adds two extra hops on the way out.
The practical shape of the journey looks like this:
| Stage | What happens | Typical time |
|---|---|---|
| Casino to wallet | Casino approves the withdrawal and sends coins to your address | 24 to 48 hours for Bitcoin once approved, seconds for some coins1 |
| Wallet to exchange | You send coins to your exchange deposit address | Minutes, depending on network confirmation times |
| Exchange to bank | You sell the crypto and withdraw the proceeds | Three to five business days by bank transfer1 |
If you are new to the deposit side of this flow, see how crypto deposits and withdrawals work at gambling sites, and if you are still choosing how to fund an account, our guide to buying crypto to gamble covers exchanges and P2P trading.
What the law does not cover
Most of this journey happens in places the gambling laws do not reach. The statutes that govern casinos say what may happen on the gaming floor or on the operator's website; they say very little about what you do with coins once they are yours.

Japan makes this explicit. Under the Act on Development of Specified Integrated Resort Areas, the Penal Code's gambling articles do not apply to licensed casino acts carried out by a licensed operator in the licensed casino area8. Singapore's Gambling Control Act 2022 similarly states that its main operating parts do not apply to gambling carried on within a casino9. In China, an official interpretation confirms that recreational activities with small money stakes, and chess and card rooms charging only normal venue and service fees, are not treated as gambling10.
None of these provisions says anything about selling crypto. The off-ramp, the exchange sale and the bank transfer sit outside the gambling framework entirely, which is why the practical questions on this page are about minimums, confirmations and transfer times rather than licenses.
One thing the law does cover is winnings themselves in certain situations. In Singapore, all winnings, including linked jackpots, paid to an excluded person or a minor who enters or remains on casino premises in contravention of the Act are forfeited to the Consolidated Fund11. The same applies to a non-monetary prize, which is paid over at its value. So the first check before any cash-out is whether you were entitled to play at all.
Resident or visitor: which rules apply to you
Your status decides which bank account the money can land in, and sometimes whether you can hold the winnings in foreign currency at all.
Vietnam has the clearest written rules, and they apply to foreign players at prize-winning electronic game businesses. A player who receives a cash prize in foreign currency may sell that currency to a licensed bank for Vietnamese dong, transfer the cash abroad through a licensed bank, carry it abroad with the bank's confirmation, or deposit it into a foreign currency payment account at a licensed bank12. A draft circular on foreign exchange management for these businesses confirms that players may receive prize payments in foreign currency both in cash and by bank transfer13. In other words, the conversion itself is a banking transaction with a licensed bank, not something you arrange informally.
Japan's official betting products are built around a registered local account. Keirin internet betting pays winnings directly into the bank account you register with the service14. If you are a visitor without a Japanese account, there is no crypto-style workaround: the payout channel is the account, and only the account.
In South Korea, the casino side is restricted before any payout question arises. The casino at the Hyatt Regency in Jeju is for foreigners only15, as is the Jeju KAL Hotel Casino16, and Paradise Casino Paradise City admits foreign nationals and overseas permanent residents only, with Korean nationals barred from entry. Singapore draws its line with money: a casino operator must not allow any Singapore citizen or permanent resident to enter or remain on casino premises unless the person has paid the entry levy17, and the levy is not refundable if the casino closes for any circumstance, or if the patron has an exclusion order, visit limit or other entry restriction18.
The practical takeaway: before you plan a cash-out, know which side of the resident or visitor line you fall on in the country where you hold your bank account, because that account is the final destination of the whole journey.
Withdrawing from the casino to your crypto wallet
The first hop starts at the casino cashier. At Bitcasino, you switch to the withdrawal tab, select the cryptocurrency and the method, enter the amount, paste your wallet address and confirm19. The deposit screen shows a QR code, the wallet address and your balance, and the same address works whether you are sending from a wallet app or an exchange app19.
Before you request the withdrawal, check that your coin is actually available for payouts. Bitcoin must be listed among the withdrawal methods accepted at the casino; if it is accepted for deposits but absent from the withdrawal list, you need to contact support20. This is a common trap: a casino can accept a coin on the way in and not pay it out.
Two limits matter at this stage. The first is the casino's minimum withdrawal. At CryptoGames, the minimum is 0.0007 BTC or the altcoin equivalent for your first withdrawal, and 0.00035 BTC or the equivalent for all further withdrawals2. At Casino Max, the minimum is $30 for Bitcoin and $200 for bank transfer or check1. The second is identity verification: the casino cannot pay out until your documents are verified, and those documents may include ID, proof of residency and evidence of card or e-wallet ownership22. Expect verification to take up to two or three business days at many operators.
If your withdrawal sits in a queue for longer than the published times, see why your casino withdrawal is pending for the processing periods, reversals and review holds that can hold a payout up.
Moving funds from the wallet to an exchange
Once the coins are in your wallet, the second hop is a deposit into the exchange or service where you will sell them. Mechanically this is the same as any crypto deposit: you copy the exchange's deposit address or scan its QR code, send the coins from your wallet, and wait for the network to confirm the transaction.

Minimum deposit amounts at gambling sites give a sense of how small these thresholds are, and exchange minimums are similar in spirit. Bitcasino accepts deposits from USDT 0.25, USDC 0.25, LTC 0.002, ETH 0.00013, POL 0.32556 or CAD 10 in fiat3. CryptoGames sets its minimums at 0.0001 Bitcoin, 0.005 Ether, 0.001 Bitcoin Cash, 0.01 Litecoin, 0.01 BNB or 100000 SHIB per transaction2.
| Coin | Bitcasino minimum deposit | CryptoGames minimum deposit |
|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin | listed per transaction | 0.0001 BTC |
| Ether | ETH 0.00013 | 0.005 ETH |
| Litecoin | LTC 0.002 | 0.01 LTC |
| Tether | USDT 0.25 | 3 USDT |
| USD Coin | USDC 0.25 | 3 USDC |
| Polygon | POL 0.32556 | 3 POL |
The coins you can move through this pipeline are broad. CryptoGames accepts Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, BNB, Ether, Ether Classic, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Solana, Shiba Inu, Pepe, Polygon, USD Coin, Tether and Ripple23. If you are moving a stablecoin, the network you choose matters as much as the coin; see USDT and stablecoins for gambling for how TRC20, ERC20 and BEP20 differ, and what to do if you sent USDT on the wrong network.
Selling crypto and transferring to your bank
The third hop is the sale. On the exchange, you sell the coins for fiat and then withdraw the proceeds to your bank account. This is the slowest leg of the journey, because it ends in the banking system.
Bank transfer times at online casinos give a fair picture of what to expect from any wire. Casino Max quotes three to five business days for bank transfer or check1. 3Dice Casino quotes three to four business days for bank wire transfer24. BetOnline Casino quotes up to 15 business days for check or wire transfer25. Whatever the quoted range, the money is moving through correspondent banks, and weekends do not count as business days.
In Vietnam, the sale has a defined form for foreign players: you sell the foreign currency to a licensed bank for Vietnamese dong, or move it abroad through a licensed bank12. That keeps the transaction inside the banking system, which is also what makes it straightforward to document.
Not every cash-out follows the exchange route. When Vietnamese police described the Rikvip and Tip.club online gambling operation, they noted that players converted the site's RIK units into money by selling to agents, or into telecom card codes, game card codes and phone top-ups via payment intermediaries26. That is an informal off-ramp, and it carries the risks of any peer-to-peer deal: no receipt, no recourse and no bank record. Our page on buying crypto to gamble covers the P2P side in more detail.
One thing to expect at the bank end is questions. A transfer from an exchange into a personal account can prompt a source-of-funds inquiry, especially for larger amounts. See source of funds checks for why banks ask and what documents help.
Delays and confirmation requirements
Every stage of the cash-out has its own waiting time, and knowing the normal ranges keeps you from worrying about a delay that is actually routine.

| Casino | KYC | Pending time | Bitcoin | Bank transfer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Casino Max | within 2 business days | within 3 business days | 24 to 48 hours | 3 to 5 business days1 |
| BetOnline | up to 3 business days | 24 hours | within 24 hours | within 15 business days25 |
| Cherry Jackpot | within 2 business days | within 3 business days | 24 to 48 hours | 3 to 5 business days27 |
| Eclipse Casino | up to 3 business days | 3 to 7 business days | not quoted | 3 to 7 business days28 |
| Casino Brango | not quoted | not quoted | instant | not quoted27 |
The pattern is consistent: verification first, then a pending period, then the crypto transfer itself. Once the casino approves the withdrawal, the coins immediately reach your crypto wallet21. The waiting is all on the approval side.
The coin you choose changes the last stretch. Some cryptos, like Solana and Ripple, can deliver cash-outs in seconds if a casino has automatic request processing25. Bitcoin takes longer because its network confirms transactions more slowly. If speed is the deciding factor, see our comparison of crypto vs bank transfer withdrawal times.
Confirmation requirements also apply on the way in. A crypto deposit needs blockchain confirmations before it is credited, and the timing depends on network congestion and fees. If a deposit has not appeared, see gambling deposit not credited for what to check before contacting support.
Tax on winnings and crypto sales
Tax is the part of the cash-out that varies most by country, so it deserves its own look before you plan the sale.
India has the most explicit rules in the region. Under the Finance Act 2023 framework, all real money gaming apps deduct tax at 30% on your net winnings at the time of withdrawal, or on March 31 at the end of the financial year, whichever comes first4. The operator's worked examples show how the arithmetic runs:
- Deposit INR 2,000, withdraw INR 3,000: net winnings are INR 1,000, tax is INR 300, and the payout is INR 2,7004.
- Total withdrawals INR 5,000 against total deposits INR 6,000: net winnings are negative INR 1,000, and no tax is deducted4.
- Withdrawal equal to your deposits: net winnings are zero, no tax is deducted4.
- At year end, if 30% of net winnings comes to INR 150 and INR 100 was already deducted during the year, the remaining INR 50 is taken from your closing balance, leaving INR 950 carried forward4.
The key idea is that the tax falls on net winnings, not on every withdrawal, and it is deducted at source by the operator rather than paid by you later.
Crypto casinos take the opposite approach. The CryptoGames terms state that you are solely responsible for determining and paying any taxes applicable to your activity, including winnings, in your jurisdiction2. Nothing is deducted, nothing is reported to your tax authority by the casino, and the entire question of what you owe on the sale of the coins is yours to answer.
On the operator side, some jurisdictions tax the casino rather than the player. Kangwon Land in South Korea reverts 10% of casino turnover to the government under the Tourism Promotion and Development Fund Act29. That is a cost of doing business for the operator, not a deduction from your payout, but it explains why the gaming experience at different venues is priced differently.

Common Questions
How long does a crypto withdrawal from a casino take?
It depends on the casino's checks. Identity verification can take up to three business days and pending time up to another three. Once approved, Bitcoin payouts typically take 24 to 48 hours, and some casinos process e-wallet and Bitcoin withdrawals instantly. After approval, the coins reach your wallet right away.
What is the minimum deposit at crypto casinos?
Minimums are small. Bitcasino accepts deposits from USDT 0.25, USDC 0.25, LTC 0.002 or ETH 0.00013. CryptoGames sets its minimum at 0.0001 Bitcoin per transaction, with similar small thresholds for other coins. Fiat minimums also exist, such as CAD 10 at Bitcasino.
Which cryptocurrencies do casinos accept?
CryptoGames accepts Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, BNB, Ether, Ether Classic, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Solana, Shiba Inu, Pepe, Polygon, USD Coin, Tether and Ripple. Other casinos list similar sets. Always check that the coin you want to withdraw is listed among the casino's withdrawal methods, not just its deposit methods.
Do I pay tax before or after converting crypto to fiat?
In India, real money gaming operators deduct 30% tax on your net winnings at the time of withdrawal, or on March 31 if the money stays in your account. Crypto casinos generally leave tax entirely to you: their terms say you are solely responsible for taxes on your activity, including winnings.
What is the smallest sale amount that triggers the 1% TDS?
The sources for this page document the 30% tax on net winnings rather than a specific crypto-sale threshold. The worked examples show tax deducted only when withdrawals exceed total deposits, and nothing deducted when they do not. Check the current threshold before selling, as it changes with the rules.
Can I deposit crypto directly from Binance to a casino?
Yes. Casino deposit screens show a QR code and a wallet address, and you can scan the QR or copy the address from either a wallet app or an exchange app such as Binance. The funds then arrive on the casino side, usually near-instantly once the network confirms the transaction.
