Online Poker in India

India's best-known poker site, Adda52, has shut its real-money cash games, and most big international rooms now exclude Indian players. Here is what each site offers, what it costs, how deposits and withdrawals work, and where you stand.

Adda52 has shut its cash games

If you played online poker in India at any point in the last decade, Adda52 was probably where you did it. That era has ended. The site now states plainly that "in light of the regulatory changes, cash games are no longer available on Adda52," and it asks players to reach out to info@adda52.com for any queries, which in practice means getting your remaining balance out1.

The regulatory change behind this is the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, which imposes a complete ban on all forms of online money games in India. It covers games of chance, games of skill, and any mix of the two, along with their advertising, promotion and facilitation2. Poker had long been defended in India as a game of skill, but the Act removes that distinction for online play. Section 5 of the Act also bars banks and payment systems from processing transactions connected to online money games, which is what cuts off the deposit and withdrawal pipes that any real-money poker room needs10.

Adda52's app still exists and can be downloaded for free play, including multi-tabling on several tables at once, but the real-money tables that made it famous are gone1. If you have money sitting in an old account, the practical advice is simple: withdraw it, and do it before you close the account, because unsettled rewards, tournament tickets and promotional points are usually voided once an account is closed11.

Where Indians can play online poker: the sites covered here

The short, honest answer is that the mainstream options have largely closed to India. Here is where things stand, site by site.

Where Indians can play online poker: the sites covered here

WPT Global operates in over 135 countries, but India is on its excluded territories list, alongside places like China, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, and the list can be amended at any time3. The room does not offer browser play at all; you need the downloaded software for Windows, Mac, iOS or Android4.

CoinPoker runs poker and a crypto casino under an Anjouan eGaming License, but its 2026 terms and conditions list India as a Restricted Territory. Accessing the site from a restricted territory, or using a VPN or proxy to mask your location and get around the restriction, is an explicit ground for terminating your account5. So while CoinPoker markets itself heavily to players in Asia, playing there from India breaches its terms.

Adda52, as covered above, has closed its cash games and urges players to withdraw1.

4rabet presents itself as available to Indian citizens, arguing that online poker sits in a legal gray area because most Indian states have historically treated poker as a skill game6. Its poker section runs daily, weekly and monthly tournaments aimed at Indian players.

1Win has a dedicated India poker section in Hindi, with a minimum deposit of INR 500 depending on the payment method7.

Casino Khajana is an India-focused site with instant deposits from INR 500 to INR 850 minimum and withdrawals from INR 1,6008.

The pattern to notice: the licensed international rooms have exited India, and the sites still accepting Indian players are offshore operations without an Indian license. Whether you play there is your call; the practical risk is that the 2025 Act's payment ban means Indian banks and wallets are not supposed to process these transactions, so card and bank deposits may simply fail, and you have no Indian regulator to turn to if a dispute arises2.

What each site offers: games, formats and stakes

Online poker as a product is the same everywhere in its core: you play against other players rather than the house, so there is no house edge on the poker tables themselves9. Games run around the clock, and online rooms typically offer more variety of stakes and game types than any live cardroom, along with lower rake12.

CoinPoker, where it does operate, spreads Texas Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, 5-card PLO and 6-card PLO, plus tournaments, cash games and free games with real money prizes13. Texas Hold'em cash tables run from $0.01/$0.02 up to $2,500/$5,000, with player traffic peaking in the early afternoon UTC14. The PLO tables come with a basic Heads-Up Display for every player, a tournament Skill Score, career stats and a Showdown Meter15. Beyond poker, the platform hosts over 4,000 casino games, including nearly 1,000 slots, and a sportsbook covering cricket competitions like the Ashes, the IPL and the T20 World Cup16. You can play through the Android or iOS app, the desktop client or a browser19.

WPT Global, in the countries where it does operate, offers cash games, multi-table tournaments, Sit & Go's, freerolls and jackpot slots, plus blackjack, baccarat and roulette. Tournaments range from $0 freerolls up to $5,000 buy-ins4.

4rabet structures its poker around tournaments: daily events with buy-ins as low as INR 20, weekly and monthly tournaments at INR 200 to INR 5,000, and high roller and satellite events from INR 10,0006.

1Win offers poker cash games and tournaments for Indian players, with the INR 500 minimum deposit noted above7.

Adda52's app remains downloadable for free play with multi-tabling, but without real-money games1.

A general point on stakes: online poker rooms usually let you sit down with at least one dollar, though minimum deposit requirements can effectively set the floor higher21.

Cryptocurrency, cards and other payment options

Payments are where the Indian situation gets most practical, because the 2025 Act bars banks and payment systems from processing online money game transactions10. That pushes the sites that still serve India toward crypto and non-bank methods.

CoinPoker is built around cryptocurrency. Deposits are available in USDT, USDC, BTC, ETH, SOL, BNB, POL and TRX, and deposits in other cryptocurrencies are sometimes automatically converted into USDT at equivalent value22. If crypto is not the right fit, it also offers bank cards, local methods and Luxon Pay, and in many countries Visa, MasterCard, Apple Pay and Google Pay as well22. Two cautions from its own guidance: sending the wrong cryptocurrency or the wrong network can delay or lose your funds, so contact support immediately if you think you have made a mistake; and network fees charged by your own wallet or exchange still apply, which CoinPoker does not control22. Direct TRON (TRX) withdrawals are not supported, so TRX holders need to convert winnings into USDT, BTC or USDC first24.

WPT Global accepts local payment methods, credit and debit cards, crypto, e-wallets and instant bank transfer, with the caveat that some methods may be unavailable in your region25. Crypto deposits work through a "Cryptoprocessing" option in the Cashier, which generates a unique address to send your coins to25. Cash transfers to and from players are forbidden; funds are accepted only through electronic, traceable methods26.

4rabet, 1Win and Casino Khajana price everything in rupees, with deposits from INR 500 to INR 850 depending on the site and method6.

Visa and MasterCard remain the leading card brands for online poker deposits and withdrawals worldwide, but from India the payment ban makes card processing unreliable at best27.

A few details worth knowing. CoinPoker has no minimum or maximum on any accepted crypto deposit method, so you can start with any amount you choose, and the whole process from signup to first game takes under five minutes28. To deposit, you enter your wallet address in the app, double-check it is accurate, and process the transaction, either from a personal wallet or an exchange32. WPT Global's deposit methods vary by region, so check what is actually available where you are before planning around a specific option25.

The fine print matters more on withdrawals than deposits. On WPT Global, you must generate rake or gross gaming revenue equal to at least 10% of your deposited amount before a withdrawal can be processed, and the operator reserves the right to impose a 30% processing fee if a withdrawal is made before the full deposit has been wagered34. Withdrawals can only be paid to the account and payment method the deposit came from, or a verified alternate account in your own name26. If verification for a withdrawal is not completed within 30 days, the request may be canceled26. Inactive accounts can also be charged a USD $10 administration fee every 30 days after a grace period, so money left sitting can erode26.

On CoinPoker, withdrawal notices must be made through the app; telephone, mail, fax and email requests are not accepted22. Before any withdrawal is processed, your play is reviewed for irregular patterns, and CoinPoker may withhold withdrawals and confiscate prizes if irregularities are found22. Verification is not required for most transactions, but CoinPoker may require it based on withdrawal limits, and some limits apply until verification is completed35. Card withdrawals in general can take up to 7 business days where cards are used36.

ACR Poker and GGPoker, both closed to India but useful as a yardstick for industry norms, apply similar rules: ACR requires accumulated rake or tournament fees of at least 10% of total deposits before authorizing a withdrawal37, and GGPoker holds poker winnings from the previous 72 hours in the poker wallet before they become withdrawable38.

Account rules: verification, names and one account per player

Every serious room limits you to one account. WPT Global allows only a single account and reserves the right to close any additional accounts and retain the money in them26. ACR allows one account regardless of which site you created access through37, and GGPoker permits only one account, with duplicate accounts subject to blocking, closure and forfeiture of winnings38.

WPT Global's verification process asks for documents such as a valid ID card, passport or driver's license, a utility bill no more than 3 months old, and proof of deposits. You have 30 days from a documentation request to comply, after which the account may be restricted or terminated4. The name registered on the account must match your legal name and the name on the funding options you use to deposit and withdraw26. Passwords need at least eight characters with uppercase letters, lowercase letters and numbers26.

CoinPoker sits at the opposite end of the spectrum: registration takes an email and a password, confirmed with an OTP code, with no KYC, no ID and no paperwork19. Verification may still be requested for security, regulatory or withdrawal-related reasons35.

Adda52 account holders with questions, including about withdrawing a balance, should write to info@adda52.com1.

Fair dealing, prohibited software and anti-cheating measures

The main things that get accounts closed are the same across rooms. CoinPoker's terms list the following grounds for termination5:

Fair dealing, prohibited software and anti-cheating measures
  • Collusion
  • Chip-dumping
  • Ghosting
  • Multi-accounting
  • Bots
  • RTA (real-time assistance) tools and other prohibited poker assistance

WPT Global prohibits robots and external player assistance programs, and says its scanning software can detect AI or RTA assistance; it also uses AI technology to detect collusion and prevent cheating in real time26. Players who exploit bugs have their accounts blocked until they are restored to their prior state, with unfairly won funds debited26.

On the mechanics of play, WPT Global returns your stake if you disconnect during an active game, unless the stake has already entered play; if a game fails or produces an inexact result, stakes and winnings are canceled and the balance restored, and winnings from a software or RNG malfunction are void26. CoinPoker uses a certified RNG plus blockchain-verified transactions31.

One more point that matters for taxes: WPT Global's terms make declaring and paying all applicable taxes on winnings the player's sole responsibility, and the company may report or withhold amounts if legislation requires it. See our page on tax on gambling winnings in India for the Indian side26.

Responsible gambling tools and support organizations

The tools available depend on the room. WPT Global offers temporary or permanent self-exclusion on request to customercare@wptglobal.com; increases take effect 24 hours after the request, while decreases take 7 days and only at the operator's discretion. For frequent temporary self-exclusions, it reserves the right to enforce a cooling period of up to a year or close the account outright26. Its terms point players to Gambling Therapy, Gamblers Anonymous and Gam-Anon26.

CoinPoker provides self-exclusion tools and links to support organizations worldwide, and its support team is reachable through the app 24 hours a day to activate tools like timeouts and deposit limits13. Organizations such as GamCare and Gamblers Anonymous offer free and confidential support to anyone who feels gambling is becoming a problem35. In the United States, the National Problem Gambling Helpline Network runs at 1-800-522-4700 with phone and web chat counselors39. Common Questions

Is online poker legal in India?

No. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 bans all online money games in India, whether based on skill, chance or both, and bars banks and payment systems from processing related transactions. Playing online poker for real money from India is therefore not permitted.

What is the minimum age to play on WPT Global?

WPT Global restricts its services to people over 18, or the legal age for gaming where you live, whichever is higher. If age verification later shows a player is under age, winnings are forfeited and the account is closed.

Does CoinPoker require ID verification?

No. You can register with just an email address and password, confirmed by an OTP code, and play without providing ID. Verification may still be requested for security, regulatory or withdrawal-related reasons, and some withdrawal limits apply until it is completed.

How fast are CoinPoker withdrawals?

CoinPoker quotes instant to 24 hours overall, with most cryptocurrency withdrawals processed within a few minutes. Security checks can occasionally trigger a longer review. Withdrawal requests must be made through the app, not by email, phone or fax.

What is the minimum deposit on WPT Global?

Minimum deposits vary by payment method and where you are based, but the usual minimum is $10. Deposits are processed instantly in most cases, though cryptocurrency transactions can take longer. Currency conversion fees may apply to some methods.

Can I use a VPN to play on CoinPoker?

No. CoinPoker's terms list India as a Restricted Territory, and accessing the site from a restricted territory, or using a VPN or proxy to mask your location, is a ground for terminating your account.

What happens to winnings if a player is found to be under age?

On WPT Global, once age verification identifies a player as under the legal age, the winnings are forfeited and retained by the company and the account is closed. The same principle applies across licensed rooms.

Who do I contact if I have a problem with my Adda52 account?

Adda52 asks players with any queries to write to info@adda52.com. Since cash games are no longer available, the main reason to contact them is withdrawing a remaining balance from your account.
