What Non-Guests Can Use at Casino Resorts: Pools, Shuttles, Parking and Attractions

Casino resorts in Macau and Manila let day visitors ride free shuttles, park, shop and watch shows. Pools and some perks stay for hotel guests. Here is what non-guests can actually use.

Shuttles: what non-guests can ride for free

The single most useful thing a casino resort offers a non-guest is the shuttle bus. In Macau, the larger casinos run free direct shuttle buses to and from the border crossings, and you do not need to be a hotel guest or a gambler to get on1. The same buses also serve tourist hotspots around the city, so they double as a free way to move between the ferry terminal, the old town and the Cotai strip5.

In Manila, Okada Manila runs its own complimentary shuttle network. These are open to the public, not just to people staying in the hotel. The routes cover several pickup points around Metro Manila and the surrounding area, and the buses are free to board2.

A few practical points apply to all of these:

  • You generally just show up at the stop and board. No room key, no booking, no casino membership.
  • Buses run on fixed schedules, not on demand, so check the current timetable before you set out.
  • Luggage is usually fine on the larger Macau shuttles, which is why they are popular with people arriving from the ferry or the border.
  • Service hours are not 24 hours, even though the casino floors are. Macau casinos are open around the clock, but the shuttles stop in the evening1.

If you are moving between Hong Kong, Macau and Zhuhai, the shuttle network is worth planning around. See Getting Between Hong Kong, Macau and Zhuhai for how the crossings fit together.

Okada Manila shuttle routes and schedules

Okada Manila sits on New Seaside Drive in Entertainment City, Parañaque City, Metro Manila4. It runs a set of complimentary shuttles, and the schedules are published by the resort.

Okada Manila shuttle routes and schedules

The Araneta City route runs hourly. Buses leave Okada Manila from 8 AM to 10 PM, and leave Araneta City from 10 AM to 12 AM2.

The SM BF Parañaque route runs from 7 AM to 9:30 PM out of Okada Manila, and from 8:30 AM to 11 PM out of SM BF Parañaque2.

The Summit Point Batangas route is more limited. It runs on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday only, leaving Okada Manila at 7 PM and Summit Point at 9 PM. You must pre-register at least two days before your preferred travel date4.

One route has closed. Okada Manila discontinued the complimentary shuttle from SM North EDSA effective April 26, 2026, so do not plan around it2.

For airport transfers, Okada Manila offers a one-way pickup and dropoff service between NAIA, Clark International Airport and the resort4. This is a car service rather than a free shuttle, so expect to pay. The resort does not publish a fixed public fare, so ask at the transportation desk or your hotel for the current price before you book.

MGM Macau shuttle routes and schedules

MGM runs two properties in Macau, MGM MACAU on the peninsula and MGM COTAI on Cotai, and its shuttle buses connect both to the main arrival points. The buses are free for guests, and in practice anyone can board3.

The Border Gate route runs from Border Gate to MGM MACAU from 9:00 AM to 11:30 PM, with a bus about every 15 minutes3.

The airport and ferry terminal loop is the one most visitors use. It runs MGM MACAU to Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, then Macau International Airport, then Taipa Ferry Terminal, then MGM COTAI, from 9:00 AM to 9:45 PM, with a bus about every 15 minutes3.

There is also a Hengqin Port route to MGM Cotai, running roughly every 20 minutes during service hours, and a Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge route to MGM COTAI, roughly every 15 to 20 minutes3.

Distances are short. MGM MACAU is about 15 minutes by car from Macau International Airport, Taipa Ferry Terminal or the Border Gate, and about 5 minutes by car from Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal or the helicopter pad3.

A simple way to think about it:

MGM has invested heavily in non-gaming attractions, including premium lounges and villas aimed at high-end customers, and the resorts compete on dining, wellness, art and entertainment as much as on the casino floor6. That competition is good news for day visitors, because it means there is more to do without a room key.

When a shuttle costs money or requires pre-registration

Most casino shuttles are free, but a few need planning.

The Okada Manila Summit Point route is the clearest example. It runs only three days a week and requires registration at least two days before you travel4. If you turn up without registering, you will not board.

Some shuttle services elsewhere in Asia require a reservation as a matter of course. The Grand Shario Nighter shuttle bus in Japan, for instance, requires a reservation to board7. That is a different kind of service, but it shows the pattern: free does not always mean walk-up.

Airport car services are a separate product from the free shuttles. Okada Manila's NAIA and Clark service is a one-way pickup and dropoff, not a complimentary loop, so treat it as a paid transfer4.

If you are crossing a land border specifically to reach a casino, the shuttle is only one part of the trip. Crossing a Land Border to a Casino covers day trips, entry stamps and re-entry rules.

Events and attractions open to non-guests

This is where casino resorts have changed the most. The non-gaming side is open to everyone, and in Macau it is a major draw in its own right.

Macau's tourism authority points visitors to the shows and entertainment at the resorts, not just the gaming floors1. Casinos there are open 24 hours, so the building itself never closes, even when the shuttles stop1.

MGM Cotai hosts the "MACAU 2049" show, with a parent-child package running from June 18 to December 31, 2026. The name alone tells you it is aimed at families, not just gamblers.

MGM also runs the 13th International Lion Dance Championship 2026 MGM CUP, held on October 10 and 11 at Barra Square in Macau, with 25 teams from 14 countries and regions. It takes place at the plaza in front of the A-Ma Temple, a World Heritage site, so it is a public event rather than a casino-floor one.

Okada Manila runs resort-wide events too. It announced a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration featuring the K-pop star SUNMI, and a Mother's Day program with dining, wellness and family activities.

The practical takeaway: you can spend a full day at these resorts, watch a show, eat well and never set foot on a gaming floor. If you are bringing children, Taking Children to Casino Resorts in Asia explains where minors may and may not go.

Shopping and seasonal promotions at the resorts

Shopping is fully open to non-guests, and the resorts use it to pull in day visitors.

Shopping and seasonal promotions at the resorts

The Promenade at Okada Manila ran a mid-year shopping raffle from July 1 to 31, 2026, where qualifying purchases at participating shops gave shoppers a chance to win exclusive Okada Manila prizes.

MGM MACAU and One Central Macau ran a Golden Week shopping promotion from September 21 to October 7, 2026, with rebates up to 10% during the Early Bird period and a lucky draw with prizes worth up to MOP80,000.

These promotions come and go with the calendar. Golden Week, Chinese New Year and other peak periods are when the resorts compete hardest for shoppers, and also when the shuttles and parking fill up fastest. Golden Week, Chinese New Year and Other Peak Periods at Asian Casino Destinations explains what to expect.

One small but useful detail from outside the casino world: some lottery and betting shops let non-members reserve a purchase online and buy in person without registering, though they do not earn loyalty points8.

What non-guests cannot use

The main things reserved for hotel guests are the pools and the in-room perks. At Okada Manila, free self-parking is offered to hotel guests, with entrances at the Pearl Wing and Coral Wing and other side entrances4. If you are not staying there, do not assume the parking is free.

Pools at casino resorts in Manila and Macau are generally for hotel guests. The resorts do not publish pool access for day visitors, and the practical assumption is that you need a room key or a spa booking to use them.

Some areas are restricted by who you are rather than whether you are a guest. In South Korea, several casinos are foreigners-only, including Paradise Casino Jeju Grand, Jeju KAL Hotel Casino and the Hyatt Regency casino9. Korean nationals are not allowed into foreigners-only casino floors at all12. That is a nationality rule, not a guest rule, and it applies whether or not you have a room.

Inside the casino itself, there are rules that apply to everyone. Customers are prohibited from transferring or receiving chips between each other, except between relatives living together, and from taking chips outside the casino gaming area13.

If you are a Singapore citizen or permanent resident, separate entry levy rules apply at the city's casinos, and self-exclusion schemes can bar you from the floor entirely14. Resorts World Sentosa: Casino Entry and Visitor Rules covers how that works.

The short version: shuttles, shopping, shows and restaurants are open to you. Pools, free guest parking and some lounges are not. And the casino floor itself may be closed to you for reasons that have nothing to do with whether you booked a room.
