Mocha Hotel Royal closes

Melco Resorts and Entertainment (Macau) announced on November 25 that its Mocha Hotel Royal club will formally cease operations at 23:59 on December 28, 2025¹. The company said the closure process has begun in accordance with legal requirements and in close cooperation with the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) to ensure an orderly shutdown¹.

The closure completes a plan Melco announced in June to shut three Mocha clubs¹.

Under DICJ approval, the slot machines at Mocha Hotel Royal will be reallocated to other Melco casinos in the Macau Special Administrative Region to continue operating¹. Local staff currently working at Mocha Hotel Royal will be reassigned to other Melco casinos and gaming areas according to operational needs¹.

Customers holding existing slot machine cash vouchers (TITO) from Mocha Hotel Royal can continue to use them at other Melco venues, including Altira Macau, Mocha Inner Harbour, Mocha Golden Dragon and Mocha New Lisboa¹.

What it means for players

Mocha Hotel Royal is a slot club rather than a full casino, so the practical effect is on slot players who used that venue. The machines themselves are not leaving Macau: they move to other Melco properties under DICJ approval¹. Outstanding TITO vouchers remain usable at Altira Macau, Mocha Inner Harbour, Mocha Golden Dragon and Mocha New Lisboa¹. No change to entry rules, game offerings or operating hours at those venues has been reported. What happens next

Mocha Hotel Royal trades until 23:59 on December 28, 2025, when it formally ceases operations¹. Staff reassignments and the reallocation of its slot machines to other Melco casinos follow that date¹. No further Mocha closures have been announced beyond the three named in June¹.
