The monthly lotteries at a glance
Alongside its weekly and bumper draws, the Maharashtra State Lottery runs a set of monthly lotteries. Each one has its own ticket price, its own prize structure and its own draw date, but they all follow the same pattern: tickets are printed in numbered series, the draw is held at the lottery office in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, and results are published on the official website, lottery.maharashtra.gov.in, and in select newspapers6.
The July 2026 schedule lists the four monthly draws with their current ticket prices and first prizes1:
| Lottery | Ticket price | First prize | Draw time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gaurav | INR 50 | INR 27 lakh | 4:00 PM |
| Ganesh Laxmi | INR 100 | INR 22 lakh | 4:00 PM |
| Tejaswini | INR 200 | INR 27 lakh | 8:00 PM |
| Gajraj | INR 30 (listed in the July 2026 schedule; the game rules set it at INR 20 including GST) | INR 12 lakh (schedule) / INR 14 lakh (game rules) | 4:00 PM |
The state also runs weekly draws under names such as Ganeshlaxmi, Sahyadri Deeplaxmi and Gaj Laxmi, plus festival bumper draws such as the Diwali Bhavyatam. You can read about the big festival draws on our page on Maharashtra bumper lotteries, and about the wider scene on our page on the India lottery.
Gaurav: INR 50 a ticket, 20 series
Gaurav is the mid-priced monthly draw. A ticket costs INR 50, including GST, and the draw is held at 4:00 PM2. The current run of the lottery began in November 20252, and the published draw program shows a Gaurav monthly draw on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 4:00 PM7.
Each Gaurav draw has 20 series, with 90,000 tickets in each series, and ticket numbers run from 0000 to 99992. The first prize is a common prize of INR 27,00,000 shared across all the series, and the winner also receives an incentive bonus of INR 27,0002.
The rest of the prize structure works per series, with the numbers drawn in full2:
| Prize | Amount | Winners per series | Winners across all series |
|---|---|---|---|
| Second | INR 5,000 | 2 | 40 |
| Third | INR 3,000 | 2 | 40 |
| Fourth | INR 2,000 | 2 | 40 |
| Fifth | INR 1,000 | 2 | 40 |
| Sixth | INR 100 | drawn randomly, any 500 numbers | 10,000 |
In total, a Gaurav draw offers 10,161 prizes worth INR 41,40,0002. The November 2025 schedule confirms the same totals: first prize INR 27 lakh, second prize INR 5,000 on 40 tickets, and total prize money of INR 41,40,0008.
Ganesh Laxmi: INR 100 a ticket, first prize Rs. 22 lakh
Ganesh Laxmi is the INR 100 monthly draw. From July 2026 it is drawn at 4:00 PM; an earlier order for the October 2025 draw set the time at 8:00 PM, so it is worth checking the current schedule3.
A draw consists of 10 series, with ticket numbers running from 0000 to 9999 in each series, for 1 lakh tickets in total3. The top prize works the same way as in Gaurav, shared across all series; the October 2025 version of the draw carried Rs. 21 lakh, so the prize has been raised since9.
The full prize structure from the July 2026 order3:
| Prize | Amount | Winners per series | Winners across all series |
|---|---|---|---|
| Second | Rs. 10,000 | 1 | 10 |
| Third | Rs. 5,000 | 10 | 100 |
| Fourth | Rs. 2,000 | 10 | 100 |
| Fifth | Rs. 1,000 | 10 | 100 |
| Sixth | Rs. 500 | 10 | 100 |
| Seventh | Rs. 250 | drawn randomly, any 400 numbers | 4,000 |
There is also an incentive prize: Rs. 9,000 for the winning first-prize number in each of the 9 series that did not take the first prize3. The total prize money for a draw is Rs. 42,53,000, which includes Rs. 42,31,000 in prizes plus a Rs. 22,000 seller bonus3. Tickets are printed on 20 x 90 cm, 90 GSM Croma Art paper, in case you want to spot an authentic one9.
Tejaswini: INR 200 a ticket, 3,510 prizes
Tejaswini is the top-priced monthly draw at INR 200 a ticket, including GST, and it is drawn at 8:00 PM4. Like Ganesh Laxmi, the current version runs monthly from July 20264.
Each draw has 10 series, with ticket numbers running from 1000 to 7999 in each series4. The top prize of INR 27,00,000 is shared across all series in the same way as in Gaurav4.
The prize structure from the July 2026 order4:
| Prize | Amount | Winners per series | Winners across all series |
|---|---|---|---|
| Second | INR 10,000 | 10 | 100 |
| Third | INR 5,000 | 10 | 100 |
| Fourth | INR 2,000 | 10 | 100 |
| Fifth | INR 1,000 | 10 | 100 |
| Sixth | INR 500 | 10 | 100 |
| Seventh | INR 400 | drawn randomly by computer | 3,000 |
The incentive prize is INR 9,000 for each of the 9 series other than the first-prize series4. In total, a Tejaswini draw offers 3,510 prizes worth INR 58,31,0004. An earlier version of the draw, in force from October 2025, had a first prize of INR 25 lakh and total prize money of INR 50,25,000, so both the top prize and the prize pool have grown10.
Gajraj: INR 30 a ticket, 25 series
Gajraj is the entry-level monthly draw. The July 2026 schedule lists the ticket price at INR 30 and the first prize at INR 12 lakh1; the game rules, in force since January 28, 2024, set the price at INR 20 including GST and the first prize at INR 14 lakh5, so the schedule is the more recent document. The published draw program shows a Gajraj monthly draw on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 4:00 PM11.
A Gajraj draw prints 2,50,000 tickets in 25 series of 10,000 tickets each, with ticket numbers 0000 to 9999 in every series5. The November 2025 schedule also lists a second prize of INR 5,000 on 20 tickets8.
Gajraj is promoted with its own printed poster, which carries the draw name and the official website, lottery.maharashtra.gov.in12.
Prize structures and how the draws work
All four monthly lotteries follow the same basic mechanics. Tickets are printed in series, each series carries numbers from 0000 to 9999 (or 1000 to 7999 for Tejaswini), and prizes are drawn either for a full number or for a batch of numbers drawn randomly2.
The draws themselves use an electric draw machine, a drum with wheels carrying the digits 0 to 9, operated by the draw panel10. For the first prize, a separate drum holds discs for each series in plastic or rubber covers; one pouch is drawn, the series letter is announced, and then the winning number is drawn13. For the smaller prizes that are drawn "randomly," a computer selects a batch of numbers at once; in Tejaswini, for example, the seventh prize of INR 400 goes to 3,000 numbers selected this way4.
If a number comes up twice when several winning numbers are being drawn in a series, the repeat is canceled and a new winning number is drawn in its place13. If a draw cannot be held because of a computer failure, a power cut or a natural disaster, it is held the next day and the result is announced then4.
The draws are done with an electric draw machine, a drum with wheels bearing the digits 0 to 9; the first prize is drawn from a separate drum holding discs for each series, and some lower prizes are picked at random by computer. Official results are published on lottery.maharashtra.gov.in and in select newspapers6.
Tickets are sold only in Maharashtra State
Every monthly lottery carries the same restriction: tickets are sold only within Maharashtra State, and the words "For sale only in Maharashtra State" are printed on the tickets themselves2. So you buy these tickets from authorized sellers in Maharashtra, and you will not find them on sale outside the state.
How to claim a prize
The claim process depends on the size of the prize. Prizes up to Rs 10,000 can be claimed from the retail agent you bought the ticket from. Prizes above Rs 10,000 must be claimed from the Deputy Director, Maharashtra State Lottery, Vashi, Navi Mumbai6.

Whatever the amount, the claim must meet these requirements:
- You must make the claim within 90 days of the draw date6.
- You must submit the original ticket to the government6.
- Only one prize can be claimed on any ticket, so if your number wins in more than one prize category, you claim the higher one3.
The claims office is the same building where the draws are held: T-Block, 1st Floor, Plot No. 7, Dana Bazar, APMC Market, Sector 19-B, Vashi, Navi Mumbai 40070515. The department's phone number for application forms and terms and conditions is 022-2784672014.
Wholesale discounts for sellers
Sellers who buy tickets in bulk get a discount on the face value, with the percentage rising as the quantity grows. The Ganesh Laxmi monthly draw sets these slabs9:
| Tickets purchased | Discount on face value |
|---|---|
| 500 to 10,000 | 16% (including GST) |
| 10,001 to 25,000 | 20% (including GST) |
| 25,001 to 100,000 | 23% (including GST) |
The July 2026 order for Ganesh Laxmi states the 16% slab as applying to purchases of 500 to 10,000 tickets3. Sellers collect their tickets from the office of the Deputy Director (Finance and Accounts) at the Vashi address above3.
