Singapore Pools (Private) Limited has laid down new Motor Racing Betting Game Rules, dated 10 June 2026, governing wagers on motor racing events. The rules state that they apply to all bets placed on or after that date1.

Under the rules, bets can be placed physically at Singapore Pools betting outlets or with authorized retailers, or remotely through the operator's website or mobile app1. Betting may open up to sixty days before an event, or a shorter period at Singapore Pools' discretion, and live betting during an event may be offered or stopped at any time at the operator's discretion1. Stakes are in multiples of one Singapore dollar inclusive of Goods and Services Tax. The minimum stake is no less than five dollars at outlets and authorized retailers, and no less than one dollar for remote betting1.

The rules set out refund conditions. Bets are voided and refunded if the venue changes after betting starts but before the event begins, or if the event is called off after betting starts and no replay or resumption is scheduled, or a scheduled replay moves venue, or a scheduled replay falls outside 36 hours of the original scheduled time and date1. A late start is not treated as a postponement provided the event starts within 12 hours of the original scheduled start and the venue is unchanged1. Where an event is called off and a replay is announced, Singapore Pools may extend the betting deadline or open a fresh round of betting1.

The rules also address the "Top Team" bet type, which is based on the most points accumulated during a defined period, with selected races including races where a team was penalized. The document gives the example of a team that won a race but received a five-point deduction afterward1. Bets for "Top Team" will not be refunded if any driver from the selected team takes part as a Runner in any selected race, and will be refunded only if all the drivers in the team are Non-Runners in all of the selected races, or if all of the selected races are canceled1.

In the event of a dead heat, where two or more competitors achieve identical results, the rules state the winning prize is calculated by dividing the stake on the selection by the number of competitors with the identical result, then multiplying by the applicable odds1. Where there is uncertainty over results, Singapore Pools reserves the right to suspend settlement of affected bets pending verification, and where there is evidence of rigging it may delay announcing results of affected events1.

What it means for players

The rules apply to anyone betting on motor racing with Singapore Pools, whether at an outlet, through an authorized retailer or remotely, for bets placed on or after 10 June 20261. Minimum stakes differ by channel: five dollars in person and one dollar remotely1. Refund outcomes depend on whether an event is called off, replayed, moved or delayed, and on the timing of any resumption relative to the original schedule1. For "Top Team" bets, refunds turn on whether all or only some drivers in a team are affected1. Singapore Pools retains discretion over odds, bet limits, live betting and refunds in several situations set out in the rules1.

What happens next

The rules took effect for bets placed on or after 10 June 20261. No further dates have been reported.
