God of Gamblers (1989)

This action film has a beautiful blend of drama and comedy, a perfect combination for this Hong Kong pleasurable frolic. With lead star Hollywood actor Chow Yun-Fat, this film is based on a world-famous gambler as he moves around, placing bets and in due course loses his memory. Enormously popular, this movie has procreated a superb nine spin-offs and six sequels.

Casino Raiders (1989)

One more Hong Kong action drama, Casino Raiders came out the same year as God of Gamblers, the film has a gambling plot. It articulates the story of Sam Law and Crab Chan, professional gamblers and is also best friends. This film spins a dark tale of the perils of organized crime and gambling.

California Split (1974)

This movie is so good most poker players must have seen it already. The characters are Charlie Waters and Bill Denny. Both are gamblers with different life background. They met in a gaming club in Southern California, and the two men started to spend more and more time together. Bill is a casual gambler and writes for a magazine while Charlie is making his career as a gambler.

The two men are so determined to raise enough money to win high stakes poker in Reno. The movie made $5 million in the box office.

Croupier (1998)

Jack Manfred, the main character, is a struggling writer and was left with no choice but to take a job as a croupier. He didn't like that job, but he has to do it until the casino world consumes his life completely. His relationship with his girlfriend was also affected. Marion (his girlfriend) made some attempts to save their relationship but ended up leaving him.

Jack went into a relationship with one of the players, Jani. She has bad luck and was unfortunate with her creditors. She plans to heist the casino. Where does Jack stand? The movie made $7,075,068 worldwide.

The Music of Chance (1993)

Jim Nashe is a former fireman with his last $20,000. He meets the gambler Jack Pozzi who only wants to win poker against two millionaires. The movie will show how hardcore and casual gamblers deal with good fortune. The film made a total of $313,967.

The Cooler (2003)

William H. Macy plays a man whose bad luck was terribly bad that casinos would hire him to play at tables of people on winning streaks. It did work, however, the cooler's luck changes and costs him his job.

Casino (1995)

This masterpiece by Scorsese is based on a true story. Roles played by superstars Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Sharon Stone made this film the best gambling-associated classic that usually tops in most lists.

Robert De Niro played an unshakable bookie who is overstretched to operate Vegas casinos for his gang bosses. Joe Pesci is Nicky Santoro, who is a killer and a thief whose behaviour puts both men in serious endangerment.  The movie made $116,112,375 in box offices thanks to Scorsese's mastermind editing and the actor's best performance.

The Gambler (1974)

The Gambler is about what is inside a gambling addict's mind. This film is rare for it portrayed such a realistic image. Axel Freed is a gambling addict and a successful college professor. He lost all his money because he doesn't know how to count cards in blackjack. Axel then borrows money from his mother, girlfriend, and loan sharks. The plot revolves around the realisation that he cannot stop gambling.

Casino Royale (2006)

Casino Royale made almost $600 million, which features excellent performances by Daniel Craig and Eva Green. Certainly, one of the best James Bond movies ever created.
The film tells us the tale of James Bond, just got promoted to “00” rank. He was sent on an assignment where he meets a cryptic private banker to world terrorism and poker player, Le Chiffre. Several high stake games set by Le Chiffre, Bond participates along with a pretty Treasury agent and an MI6 man.
Casino Royale is an overwhelming film with unpredictable plot twists, which makes it even more worth watching and extraordinary.

Ocean's 11 (2001)

Steven Soderbergh directed Ocean's 11 starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Julia Roberts. The film made roughly $400 million, its effects and storyline made it more appealing.

Daniel Ocean had already planned everything out before being released from prison in New Jersey. The Bellagio, The Mirage, and the MGM Grand are the three casinos that he targets and plans to rob. All three casinos belong to merciless businessperson called Terry Benedict.

Daniel Ocean starts hiring professionals from around the country to achieve his goal. He added to his team an expert pickpocket, a card magician, and a resourceful pyrotechnic. The team has a financer named Reuben Tishkoff. He hates Benedict for losing a casino to him. Danny added an expert driver and a specialist card dealer to his team.
Saul Bloom's role is to play as a hardcore dealer in the hotel, while Livingston Dell spies on the place in order to check out what goes on around the security personnel. Danny's heist also includes a Chinese acrobat who is expected to do the job that fits him.

High Roller: The Stu Ungar Story (2003)

The warmly-named Stuey features Michael Imperioli playing Stu Ungar, a high-roller famous for being the only poker player to win WSOP Main Event Tournaments. Vidmar's demonstration is no high-octane suspenseful story but shows the breakdown of a man who once had everything. The film renders the gambler's whole life from start to end, showing pleasure-seeking highs and terrible lows. Ultimately losing most of his money on horses, the story of Stu's impressive rise to the top of the gambling world and then dramatic fall is as devastating and entertaining.
