World Championship of Online Poker (W.C.O.O.P.)

W.C.O.O.P. is conducted online, played by thousands of players all over the world and is considered one of the biggest poker tournaments in the world. The competition is performed on the PokerStars website every year in the month of September. The PokerStars finances the said tournament.

The W.C.O.O.P. first started in the year 2002 and is the online counterpart to the World Series of Poker. The event provides a diversity of Poker games with Texas Hold’em as the most popular with different buy-ins for different variants and prize pool.

The games featured in the event are No-Limit, Pot-Limit, Limit Texas Hold’em, Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo, and Seven Card Stud, Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, and Pot-Limit Omaha, H.O.R.S.E. and 2-7 triple draw.

The PokerStars conducted 186 different events in the year 2018. There were 2,044 participants in the 2018 W.C.O.O.P. main event, and the winner took home $1,352,967.97. The No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker had a $5,200 buy-in and the prize pool of the main event was $10,220,000.00.

Triton Super High Roller Series (Triton Poker)

Triton poker produces one of the biggest poker tournaments. Hosted in different parts of the world, the Triton Poker provides a variety of buy-in amounts and pool prizes for its participants.

The Triton Million poker tournament managed an event with a prize pool of $65,660,000.00 and a buy-in amount of $25,000.00. This tournament is the sixth-largest poker tournament with regards to the amount of the prize pool and the number one poker tournament with the highest amount of prize awarded to the grand winner.

Businessmen and professional poker players usually play this tournament. Recognized as an expensive tournament, Triton Poker is not for ordinary poker players. Nevertheless, it is one of the biggest poker tournaments that targets big players and not just any other poker enthusiast. 

Big One for One Drop

The Big One for One Drop is a No-Limit Texas Hold’em tournament with a $1,000,000.00 buy-in hosted at the World Series of Poker (W.S.O.P.). It became the highest buy-in poker tournament and the most significant single payout offered in the year 2012. With a large buy-in amount, it would be enough to make it one of the biggest tournaments in the world.

Each player will donate as much as $111,111 from their buy-ins as a charitable contribution for the One Drop Foundation. This foundation is an international non-profit organization created by Guy Laliberté, founder of Cirque du Soleil, which targets water resourcefulness. With the said buy-in amount of $1,000,000.00, the tournament has already donated $16 million in four years for the charity foundation. 

The Big One for One Drop is a three to a four-day event held in June or July of every year. The winner generally takes home an amount of $10 million, and the prize pool for the tournament is more than $40 million.

World Poker Tour Championships (WPT)

The World Poker Tour (WPT) started in the year 2002 as an internationally broadcasted gaming and entertainment brand. No doubt that the WPT is one of the biggest poker tournaments in the world. It has operated a list of international poker tournaments and connected television series broadcast the whole event. 

The WPT Main Tour offers a range of $3,500 to $25,000 buy-in, and the winners of the event are given a prestigious membership to the WPT Champions Club. Winners receive a trophy and champions can have their names engraved on the Cup.

Millions of people can watch the poker action at home watching it on TV. The winners of the tournament get greater than $1 million as their prize.

There is also a WPT ladies variety where the tournaments are managed exclusively only for women. The winner takes home $500,000 with a buy-in of usually $300 to $1,500.
